Ukraine has been participating in the Eurovision International Song Contest since 2003, and during this period its speeches varied from high -profile victories to not too successful attempts. The lowest result in the history of our participation occurred in 2017, when the band O.Torvald with Time's song finished only in 24 place. What was the same poor song about?

This year was exceptional for Ukraine, as the country hosted Eurovision after Jamal's triumph in 2016. O.Torvald's performance then caused a contradictory reaction to both the audience and the judges. Despite the meaningful composition, the rock sound of the song did not find widespread support among the European public, which preferred other genres. As a result, the band received only 36 points and took 24th place in the finals.

The Time song was devoted to the topic of the value of time. According to the frontman of the band Yevgeny Halych, the composition emphasized that time is the only thing that cannot be returned, so every moment should be valued. The track prompted not to delay important decisions, but to act immediately. It is also worth noting that the text of the song can catch allusions to the war of Ukraine with Russia and the desire for independence.

Despite the low result in the finals, Ukraine continues to remain among the most successful Eurovision participants. From the time of her debut, she got to the finals every time, never having left the semifinals at the stage. However, twice Ukraine did not participate in Eurovision for various reasons. In 2015, the country refused to participate through the war in the Donbass, and in 2019 - because of a scandal that arose during national selection. In 2019, the winner of the National Selection was MARUV with the song Siren Song, but because of the differences with the NSTU, she never signed a contract and did not introduce Ukraine in the competition.

We will remind that Ukraine at Eurovision 2025 will represent Ziferblat, which is also prophesied to the finals. These "veterans" of the national selection for the first time were loudly declared in 2024, struck by the audience with the energetic composition of Place and Call Home (a place I call home) and becoming a true discovery for many listeners.
