2024 was a year of great victories, records and achievements that our female athletes have gained for Ukrainian sports. They not only impressed the world with their triumphs at the Olympics, but also became the voice of Ukraine in the international arena, reminding the world of the realities of war in our country. Their success has attracted the attention of the world media, allowing the world to tell the world about the courage, strength and unbreakable spirit of Ukrainians.

1. Yaroslav Maguchikh

Incredibly, at 23, Yaroslav Maguchii won all possible titles and set incredible records. Less than a month before the Olympiad, Ukrainian athlete conquered a height of 2.10 meters - a mark that remained unattainable for 36 years. The bright owner of the gold medal in Paris caused real resonance in France and gave so many interviews that it is difficult to say where it was difficult - during the competition or after a performance, at the sight of cameras.

When a sports holiday was raging on the streets of Paris, the Dnieper native was constantly reminded of journalists about tragic events in Ukraine.

2. Olga Harlan

Olga Harlan not only became the most titled Ukrainian athlete at the Olympics, winning six medals, but also turned into a true symbol of our country, its struggle and unbreakable. The path of the athlete to the triumph in Paris began not in July on the lands of Grand Pale, but in 2023 at the Fencing World Cup in Milan. It was there that Harlan was disqualified for refusing to shake the rival's hand from Russia.

It was only with the powerful pressure of the sports community and all Ukraine that the International Federation, which was headed by the Russian oligarch of Usmanov for many years, was forced to review Olga's scandalous removal. Although Harlan failed to get a dreamed "gold" in Paris, she undoubtedly became one of the main characters of the competition.

3. Kateryna Sadurskaya

The achievements of Kateryna Sadurskaya's world frieding star in 2024 impress with their exclusivity and scale. The former successful synchron player who has gone into the underwater swimming is immersed in seemingly unattainable depth for humans. At the end of 2024, at the competition on the island of Dominic Kateryna, she broke her own record, sinking without a flip and additional equipment for 82 meters. Underwater, she detained her breath for 3 minutes for 10 seconds. Sadurskaya became the first woman to conquer such a depth. In this way, Nikolaev native has forever entered her name in the history of sports.

4. Ludmila Kichenok

Ludmila Kichenok was one of the strongest tennis players in the paired discharge by 2024. However, it was this year that became especially triumphant for her: she won the US Open, reached the finals of Australian Open and completed the season with three WTA titles. It should be noted that in each of her speech, both on the court and abroad, Ludmila spoke of her homeland, reminding the world of the complex trials that Ukraine is experiencing and the heroism of its defenders.

5. Irina Gerashchenko

In 2024, Irina Gerashchenko won medals in the two most important competitions of the season. Initially, the Ukrainian jump became a bronze medalist at the European Championship. And after two months she won Bronze and at the Olympic Games in Paris. This Olympic Bronze was not only Gerashchenko's greatest achievement, but also a turning point in the athlete's career - she finally overcame a series of failures that lasted the previous three years.

This victory athlete bitten her teeth, because her workouts took place during air alarm and in the conditions of constant shutdown of light. Despite all the obstacles, Irina decided not to leave the country. According to Gerashchenko, she feels as calmly and much better in Kiev in Kiev than abroad.
