Here's how to re -enter a healthy lifestyle and get back in shape, according to an expert.
This happens to the best of us: after having been engaged in a health and fitness plan, we fall from the wagon. Fortunately, the return is easier than you think, explains Samantha Harte, doctor of physiotherapy and founder of Strongharte Fitness . "The start of our health and fitness journey is always a decision," she said. The most difficult part? "Work towards new habits when the ancients are so deeply rooted," she said. "If you are really ready to change, you will have a strong and undeniable will. From there, you can start practicing new behavior."
1 Meditate
According to Dr. Harte, working on your outside should start from the inside. An easy way to do so is morning meditation. "Adjust your alarm 5 minutes earlier than usual and use this time to relax on a day bed," she said.
2 Hydrate
You must hydrate properly if you want to get back in shape. She suggests starting the day by filling out a bottle of water with 64 ounces or more water and drinking it throughout the day. "Try to finish it before getting home, then fill it again. Drink everything you can up to around 20 hours," she said.
3 Set small goals
Take a little commitment for the day and respect it, "whatever happens," said Dr. Harte. "Maybe it's a promise not to skip breakfast, move your body for 5 minutes or rest more," she said. 4 Put yourself in a calendar
Planning time for yourself, suggests Dr. Harte. "When you look at the coming week and you see the doctor's appointment, the child's baseball and work meeting, plug in too. 5 Think about the day
At the end of the day, make a list of two things on which you are helpless, two things that you are grateful and two things you have done well, suggests Dr. Harte. "If it helps, find a liability boyfriend to whom you can send it and who can send you one in return.
