Large white sharks are moving - 4 warning panels to stay outside the water
A shark expert explains how you can stay safe this summer.
For most people, the idea of a large white shark evokes the notions of needing a bigger boat or reflections from a certain half-time show of the missing (hilarious) Super Bowl. For others, large white sharks are the the most frightening on the planet. In recent weeks, they have presented themselves in places like Florida And New Jersey - and in invisible figures so far.
To be clear, your chances of being attacked by a large white shark in the wild remain missing - about one in 11.5 million Julie Andersen , World Director of the brand for PADI around the world , as well as a founder of Shark savers ,, Shark angels , And Free fin . (Andersen says that the chances you are dying of this attack is closer to one in 264 million.)
However, it is always better to be safe. Here's how to know if a large white shark can be in the water, more tips on what to do if you see one.

Why do sharks migrate.
Although it is "difficult to know if shark populations are really increasing", explains Andersen, it is clear that the behavior and travel models of large white sharks have changed in recent years.
"Shark migration generally revolves around changing the temperatures and seasons of the ocean," explains Andersen. "The unusual thing we see is the distance from the Northern Sharks, Nova Scotia, Northern California.
Andersen attributes the growing frequency of large white observations to a changing tide in terms of conservation. To date, the United States has around 1,000 protected marine zones - aquatic areas protected by conservation - which represent approximately a quarter of the country's waters, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association . The result is more food for sharks, which naturally leads to more sharks.
So how do you know if there are large white sharks in the water?
1 You see many other fauns.
What Better life reported in 2021 Stay true today: sharks will go where their food is. Seeing a crowd of birds plunge into water, for example, means that there are probably a lot of fish - in other words, shark food. And if there is a lot of shark food in one place, there is a bigger chance that a shark is there.
"Stay out of the water if there are big highlands of fish on the surface or many marine activities," explains Andersen. "[And] avoid areas where people are actively fishing or saw fishing."
2 An Alert Shark app application.
Many sharks these days - including large whites, the palette of many conservation efforts - are labeled, identified and digitally followed. Thus, Andersen points out that you can use your phone to keep the assessment of all sharks that may be in your region.
Ocearch Has a shark tracking application that is available on both Application store And Google game , just like the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy . And, of course, you can configure Google Alerts. If you are afraid of seeing a large white shark in the water, see these digital means.

3 Or a rescuer is.
The other way to know the major observations of white sharks is among the oldest methods of human existence: it is enough to ask.
"Check with local rescuers and marine conservation groups," explains Andersen. "Talk to water users like fishermen and surfers."
And if you want to be very careful, always swim on a guarded beach. In the United States, seaside cities tend to display gusts of beaches guarded on a jurisdictional basis. For example, Long Beach Township, New Jerse, maintains a list of Beaches currently kept in and around the city. And remember that many public beaches do not hire rescuers before the Memorial Day or even mid-June (when schools generally drop).
4 It's not day.
As Better life previously reported, sharks tend to feed more on twilight and dawn . As Andersen explains, there is reduced visibility when it is not daylight.
Thus, between the increased probability of running in a shark and your reduced chances of actually seeing said shark, if you live in a region with large increased white observations, it is the wisest to avoid swimming outside the day. AE0FCC31AE342FD3A1346EBB1F342FCB
What if you see a large white shark.
If you end up seeing a large white shark, the first thing you should do is stay calm. "Maintain the visual contact and make sure the shark sees you," said Andersen. "You would not run a lion or a bear, right? If you walk on a shark in the wild, do your best to stay calm and keep your distance. Do not forget that the sharks really want not eat people. "
