This old Hollywood couple was arrested during their first appointment

The Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra affair took a crazy start.

Sinatra was married to his first wife,Nancy Barbato, from 1939 to 1951. They had three children together:Nancy Sinatra,,Tina Sinatra, andFrank Sinatra Jr. As for Gardner, she was married toMickey Rooney From 1942 to 1943 then toArtie Shaw From 1945 to 1946.

According to biographyAva, a life in films byKendra Bean andAnthony Uzarowski (Going throughPeople), Sinatra and Gardner met for the first time in a club in 1943. But when she distinguished herself in Sinatra, he was still married and nothing happened between them before years later.

They left for the neighboring town of Indio, California, where Sinatra released two cannons and started shooting on Lamps. Gardner then took a weapon itself and shot the window of a hardware store.

They were arrested and bailed out by their studio.

On what was essentially their first meeting, Gardner and Sinatra were arrested in the middle of their wild adventure. According to the server, they were brought to the police station but rescued when the studio paid for the cops to release them and keep the material silent. The server writes that Gardner arrived at home to see his sister have breakfast. "Ava told her that she was out with Frank Sinatra and that they had had a wonderful moment," said the book.

They finally married.

Sinatra ended up leaving Barbato to Gardner. Their divorce was formalized in 1951 and shortly after his agreement, Gardner and Sinatra made the knot. This marriage turned out to be the last of Gardner, and like his first two, he was short -lived. The few years of the couple together were full of arguments, jealousy and problems involving their two careers.

"He has a igniting temperament," said GardnerPeople, "While my temperament burns inside for hours." ThePair separated in 1953, although their divorce was not official before 1957.

They remained friends after separation.

Even after their divorce, Gardner and Sinatra remained friends and were close until his death in 1990. (Sinatra died eight years later.)

"They developed a great friendship", actor and friendKathryn Grayson ToldPeople. "They helped each other. I think they wanted to meet again, but the circumstances separated them."

ActorArlene Dahl, who was a friend of Gardner saidPeople, "She told me that she had never loved another man as much as she loved Frank."
