According to CNBC, Fedex tests this new method in the hope of helping one of the main problems of delivery of the company - a lack of parking in the big cities it serves.

"You serve skyscrapers and very dense areas. FedEx uses the EP1 electric trolley made by BrightDrop, a power supply and delivery company created by General Motors in 2021. According to CNBC, the tests already show positive results in terms of receipt of packages to customers. The company said the tests in New York and Toronto have shown that a letter is able to deliver 15% more packages each day with these electric trolleys than with a traditional delivery model.

Electrical trolleys could also help when gasoline prices are higher.
