Many items you are likely to find in aOffice, the post-this could be the most ubiquitous. First deployed in 1977 as a "press" bookmark ", it was not until two years later, in 1979, that the popular product got its current name and oneOffice The icon is born.

However, the means by which Post-SA obtained their famous color was strongly debated over the years. Many people have attributed to the post-it's an iconic yellow hue to everything, the supposedly yellow effect of its ability to be seen at a distance. And although post-design conception is ingenious, the creation of the product, including its famous color - was a little more than chance.

According to Dr. Geoff Nicholson, former Vice President of Technical Operations at 3M, Post-IT is yellow because it was the only paper color available when 3M started creating their prototype. When HE and 3M engineers went for paper to make their initial post of post-SA with, they asked the laboratory next to the scrap paper to work. The last remnants by hand have come to be yellow.

"They had yellow paper of scrap, that's why they were yellow," he saysJanuary on Twitter. "When we went back and said," Hey guys, do you have more yellow scrap paper? "They said," You want more, will buy it yourself ", and that's what we did, and that's why they were yellow."

Despite the accessory nature of his discovery, the yellow post-it quickly became well known for 3M to the trademark of the hue, which means that you do not see any other post-IT-IT-IT-in-in color office at any time. And while the history of accidental origin behind the color post-it is an emblematic color can be surprising to some, it is not the only aspect coincide of the creation of post-it is. In fact, the adhesive even used to paste post-its set has also been created by accident.

Dr. Spencer Silver, a 3M scientist, had initially attempted to make a super strong adhesive, only to find his efforts fail again on time and time. Fortunately, a colleague suggested that weighted low adhesive money could have another application: affix bookmarks without tearing pages from a book.

Silver conceded and the rest, as they say, is the story. And for more amazing knowledge about the world around you, whether you are in your office or elsewhere, do not miss these50 Facts to the Spirit-blow, we bet you did not know!
