To gauge the efficiency, O'Connor and Randolph had participants, distinct days, consume caffeine pills or placebo, or walk and get off the stairs.

At the end of each day of the study, the authors administered computer exams - to evaluate emotions and cognitive performance. Caffeine and placebo had no effect. But the stair march has proven to increase the motivation to do work and pass through this afternoon.
