Here is the perfect temperature to store all types of wine

If you keep red wine on your refrigerator, you should stop.

Buy and enjoywine is one of the ultimate jets of life. But knowing how to store your beloved bottles can be much less exciting - and sometimes, really confusing. All wines should not be preserved in the same way, which makes it difficult to know exactly what to do with a bottle of red vs white, sparkling or enriched.

Considering that the glass bottles are sensitive to both light and temperature, the way you store your vino can considerably affect its flavor. So we spoke with Corey Phillips, Director of Atlanta BeveragesNina + Rafi, to get the storage of Nitty-Gritty on the storage of wine to make sure we all do it.

Here's how to store every type of wine so that it has tasted amazing when you open it.

White wine

White wine Should be stored in a cool and dark place. Everyone does not have the luxury of a wine cellar, but Phillips suggests storing white wine about 55 degrees Fahrenheit. "Keep in your refrigerator is perfectly perfect, but what you should do before opening a bottle is to define it and let the temperature rise a little," says Phillips. "If it is too cold, it will remove the profile of the flavor."

If you keep your wine in the refrigerator, do not do it more than two months. The refrigerator is set to a cooler temperature than what is optimal and can interfere with the wine flavor. If you want to store your wine at perfect temperature, you can invest in aWine cooler, too much.

One of the favorite Phillips things to do at home consists of glueing a bottle of Vinho Verde to the freezer about 45 minutes before drinking to give him a winsing texture. "It's not for everyone, and I'm fine with that because that's what I appreciate," he says.

When it's time to store your white wine after opening it, it is better to use it in a few days. "With more than your natural wines, like yourBiodynamic and biological winesThey will stay a little longer, and you can see those open, up to a week, if not more than that, "says Phillips." But really, in a few days, you want to consume this bottle. "Challenge accepted.

Red wine

You might be tempted to storeRed wine On a rack on the refrigerator, but it's something you should stay away. "You can get more heat on the fridge, which is bad for wine," says Phillips. An auxiliary question is that the vibration and shake of the refrigerator can cause sediment in the wine not to settle, not to mention the way it is risky that the bottles move.

Ideally, you should store your red wines in a cool and dark place about 60 degrees Fahrenheit. A low place of your pantry would work well. If you plan to use your bottle in a few weeks, you can store it on the counter, as long as it is out of direct sunlight.

After opening a bottle, Phillips suggests storing anyRESTS OF RED WINE in the refrigerator. But as with white wine, let it come to room temperature before drinking it again.

Do not store yoursparkling wine In the refrigerator, unless you do not plan to drink it quickly enough (in a few weeks). Store it in a cool and dark place. "And then, before you're going to serve him, maybe an hour before, throw it in the refrigerator and get it at the temperature you want, somewhere about 50, 55 degrees," says Phillips.

The most important thing to know about this various category is that once the wines are open, they must be stored in the refrigerator.

Most wines must be kept on their side to prevent cork from drying out and leaving oxygen. The sparkling wine, on the other hand, must be standing. "For use at home, you could obviously go a little longer. A month or two would go well, but after that, you will start losing the quality and product features," says Phillips.

Most wines must be stored on their sides. "At home, you want to keep your wet cork, because you do not want tranquil air," says Phillips. "Once the cork dries, it will allow the air to pass through, and that's what you do not want what's going on either air entering the wine." If oxygen arrives, the wine oxidated and will cause the flavor and aroma of the wine.

However, sparkling wine (excludingChampagne) Should be stored standing. You do not want the cork of a bottle of sparkling wine to be too wet, which causes the decomposition of cork and let oxygen.

At the end of the day, wine is wine. "It's supposed to be appreciated while relaxing with yourself or with family or friends, so do not let it overwhelm if your wine is not at an optimal temperature," says Phillips. "Everyone has different preferences about what they like, so find what you like and do that."
