Eggs can help you lose weight on a low carbohydrate diet
A study asked participants to eat more of this food and the results are surprising!
When you talk about weight loss, there may sometimes be a lot ofrestriction. There is not as much conversationAdd food to diet, only take food. A recent study examines the elderly and fat loss by eatingLow-carb and high fat. The study was published in August in the journalNutrition and Metabolism And plans to know if a very low carbohydrate diet (VLCD) can help elderly people lose weight. In a surprising twist, the researchers asked the participants to add a specific food to their diet.
This food is somewhat synonymous with high cholesterol. However, the team of scientists at the University of Alabama at the Birmingham Nutrition Obesity Research Center wanted to test this.
Participants aged 60 to 75 with obesity met with dietitians registered each week. But they also received 24 eggs and said to eat three a day. The eight-week study found those who eaten a VLCD plus the three eggs per day lost more weight than those who did not do it.

"While the eggs were part of this study, we can not conclude that our conclusions result from the daily consumption of eggs", one of the authors of the study,Amy Goss, PhD, RDN, says"But I think what we can conclude is that whole eggs can be integrated into the diet healthy without having a negative impact on blood cholesterol in the elderly."
The eggs were a hot topic when you discuss cardiac health because the yellows contain cholesterol. When there are high levels of bad LDL cholesterol in the blood, the risk of cardiovascular disease is higher. But, the new research says that a high diet in saturated grease is something to avoid - no eggs. It is because eating things like pastries, transformed meat, butter and other high fat foods of saturated grease indicate the liver to create cholesterol, according toHarvard Health. Egg cholesterol represents only 1.5 grams of about 1.5 gram.
The new study also revealed a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease among participants. So, there is no need to jump on eggs at any time soon!
