How would historical sovereigns appear today?

For us they are just those characters who have made huge deeds that probably have changed history. Becca Saladin, a graphic designer, decided that now it's time to question this conception. And so, you started using Photoshop to see how famous people would be in our day.

History is a difficult thing. Not only is it written by the winners, it can also appear so distant and unreal that it is almost impossible to understand it anything but a collection of stories. Rarely we think of historical figures like real people, with problems and feelings, for us they are just those characters who have made enormous deeds that probably have changed history. Becca Saladin, a graphic designer, decided that now it's time to question this conception. And so, you started using Photoshop to see how famous people would be in our day.

The idea began when she could not find good portraits of her favorite historic figure of her, Anna Bolena. Anna, second wife of King Enrico Viii, was unjustly executed so that the king could get married again. Anna is often described as a lively, witty and charming woman but the portraits of her are very pale, dishes, they can't show her true spirit and the true personality of her.

She sat down, she used her skills of her with Photoshop for the benefit of Anna and imagined how she would be her if she had lived in modern times. Finished everything, she realized that she had done something to be replicated with other famous historical figures. After all, even if the portraits of her are good, the setting, the pose, the background and clothes still appear so old not to seem real. That's how she took the Instagram accountRoyalty Now. She now has almost 200 thousand followers and the number continues to grow. Here are some of her's works and her educationalies.

Here is Anna Bolena Version Becca, posted on Instagram with a note: "I hope no one gets tired of my posts about Anna Bolena ... It's my favorite historical figure so you will see a lot :) Many asked me if the Last time I posted Anna really thought that his features (especially his lips) were really so delicate - and I don't think they were. The tudor portraiture often minimized these features, so I modified the final version to represent what I think is probably the most realistic aspect of her. "

"Venus of the famous" The birth of Venus "by Botticelli, painted in full Italian Renaissance. The model of Venus is the splendid sixtte Vespucci, one of the artist's muses. I think you are one of the most beautiful women ever painted - Do you think someone can overcome it?

"Here we are coming to Gengis Khan, one of the most fascinating sovereigns in history, founder of the Mongolley Empire. Gengis was also responsible for millions of deaths. I was asked many times last week of retouching him too. This is the only portrait of Gengis Khan supervised by someone who really knew how he was: his nephew Khubilai Khan. "

"As many of you will know, Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth president of the United States since March 1861 until his murder in April 1865. Lincoln led the nation in the American Secession War, his most bloody war and his biggest moral crisis , constitutional and political. He preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government and modernized the US economy. "

"Louis XV is less known than the predecessor the king Sun and of him heir of him, Louis XVI, but he was the second reigning monarch the most long-lived of French history. "

"This bust of Nefertiti (who thinks was sculpted while she was still alive) is famous for her grace and for her beauty. Nefertiti lived between 1370 and about 1330 A.C. She was an Egyptian queen of Akhenaton, an Egyptian pharaoh. Akhenaton is famous for his attempt to transform Egypt into a single-artistic society (only adorating the sun, aton) rather than polytheist. "
