T.J. Maxx employees reveal the worrying truth about unsold goods

Has anyone said to dive with garbage dumpster?

Because T.J. Maxx sells a brand name at a reduced price and designer articles , the inventory is constantly returned - and there are rarely duplicates of clothes of the same size. The same can be said for shoes. But what happens when there are more things than empty racks and shelving space? The truth is more disturbing than you think.

According to employees of the T.J. MAXX stores across the country, the retailer has unsold goods via a trash compactor.

Employees claim that T.J. Maxx rejects unsold goods in trash compactors.

The receptacle "Crushing" items In a small cube using "a hydraulic metal ram", explains American Home Shield. As a rule, a machine of this nature is used to compact food waste and waste - not clothing and interior decoration - to maximize space and simplify elimination. But for these same reasons, T.J. Maxx would use trash compactors to eliminate unforgettable products.

"We use the compactors, and there is a key to making it work that only key managers and carriers can have," shared a T.J. Employee Maxx in A Reddit thread .

In Another Reddit wire , a customer said they looked at HomeGoods employees (detained by the same parent company of T.J. Maxx) throw "gift baskets with food that is surely edible in the waste compactor". They reasoned: "Why not open them and put the food in the break room so that the partners eat?"

A third person shared: "My wife is in charge of Mark Downs in her store and has just finished the yellow labels this week. She just told me how there are soaps, razors and other things that could help the homeless who will simply be thrown (literally compacted), if he does not sell."

( Yellow tags Refer to the lowest prices on items, generally marked during two huge annual sales.)

"Once, a coordinator of my store has marked items out of stock, but went to management and said that she had refused to put the articles in the compactor because of her waste," wrote another worker.

"Our store has a compactor because God forbid that we actually give covers or food that have not sold," joked a T.J. Employee Maxx.

However, some stores are designed for "garbage diving diving".

Elsewhere in the comments, others T.J. Maxx employees admitted that they filled skips to the brim to the brim of unsold goods because their stores have no trash compactors. In other words, you may be able to find many articles never used (always with labels!) In trash cans behind your T.J. Maxx.

"Not only does the product do not go to someone in need, but it ends up going to a discharge. It is exasperating," wrote a reditor.

"I am a diver [with garbage dumpster] in Socal which frequents TJX and the garbage dumpsters of their sisters stores and it seems that many stores in Southern California do not do what they are supposed to be a partner program. I often find an abundance of articles in Yalls Trash," wrote another.

"I see all these tiktoks where people find an [explanative] of things still in good condition in the garbage bags in the dumpsters. I can say by the merchant and the labels, it is one of our stores," confirmed a T.J. Employed Maxx in the wire.

Tiktok Glamourdive account ( @glamourddive ) came across a " costly jackpot dumpster “While passing through the garbage cans in a T.J. Maxx store. His treasure included jewelry, perfumes, wooden furniture, personal care products, etc.

Other employees say that T.J. Maxx donates unsold articles.

However, this is not at all the case T.J. Maxx locations. Some employees have sounded insofar as their stores give unsold products, especially clothing and bedding, home shelters and local charities.

"Our store has not started to donate last year.

"When I worked in my closest tjmaxx, we gave the articles of yellow tickets such as clothing, bedding, shoes. If beauty products such as makeup and soaps were still in good condition, we also gave this," said a second.

Another explained: "We do not give liquids or breakables because it is a passive but make clothes and toys."

It seems that each T.J. The Maxx location does something different, so the confusion remains. And to make things even more complicated, an employee has referred to a policy that indicates that all stores must "send all articles that can be used to a rescue company that sorts articles and gives them appropriately".

"Each cycle of yellow tickets that we send many boxes, the company even offers pre-printed ship labels. The only items we do not send are those that would be dangerous to send by post as fragile glassware," they said.

Hopefully, most T.J. Maxx stores adhere to this policy - or you could also put on security gloves and dive!
