Today you can often see status men of middle -aged and older, who are in the company of young girls. At the same time, we are not talking about their wives. Attractive companions accompany politicians, officials, businessmen at solemn meetings, sports competitions and other significant events, as if this is part of the protocol. But why does this situation arise and what consequences can be?

Of course, the main reason for this practice is the patriarchal system of modern society, which involves the strict separation of the social roles of a man and a woman.

For a man, the main capital is his status, position, money and useful relations. The age and appearance of men, as a rule, do not play a big role. It is no accident that it is easier for them to position themselves as “handsome men in the prime of strength”, while many women are tormented, trying to meet the unattainable standards of beauty.

For women, in turn, the main capital is external attractiveness, which is closely connected with youth: the younger the woman, the more beautiful she is considered. While a mature woman, despite the presence of all the attributes of beauty, will not be recognized as such because of her age. In such a system of values, the youth and attractiveness of a woman exchange for the status and capabilities of a man. This is the main type of relationship between floors in a patriarchal society.

That is why in a patriarchal society the appearance of a mature man with a young partner is perceived as the norm. This is a signal for others that his life goes along the right path. He has all the necessary qualities to be attractive to young women. Understanding this ultimately serves as a role model for other men.

Here the inequality in favor of men is manifested: in the patriarchal society, youth and attractiveness, which are inextricably interconnected, lasts an amazingly short period, while the social capital of a man can persist for almost all his life.

Why do young girls agree to this state of affairs? Firstly, they can be the same victims of Patriarchate as men, believing that the path to success lies through relations with an influential partner. Therefore, they spend years not on the development of new knowledge and skills, but on passion for fashion and plastic operations.

The winners of beauty contests often fulfill representative duties at official events. They are young, dependent and obedient to the authorities, which is mainly in middle and older men. If such women correspond to the expected behavior, government officials will provide them with part of their privileges. That is why the “queens of beauty” are important role -playing models for many women. What are the consequences of this situation? This leads to a double objectification of women: from men and from the state.

Is there a way out of this matrix? You can try to get around the existing system, which is hardly possible. In order to break ties with the patriarchy, it is necessary to subject it to constant critical analysis and change existing rules. Unfortunately, this practice today does not receive support from the state. On the contrary, the authorities deliberately contribute to the maintenance and development of this world order.
