In early January, Roker returned to Today show and him and his wife, ABC News' Deborah Roberts ,, talked about his health emergency With his co-hosts. Initially, Roker asked for help for stomach pain, but the situation quickly turned into much more. "It was a medical mystery for a few weeks," said Roberts.

Roker explained: "I had two complicated things. I had blood clots which, according to them was. And finally they entered and did the operation."
