The recall has had an impact on nine states so far, including Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Residents of these states which have recently bought funny nuggets from Tyson are informed by the FSIS to reference the establishment number (located at the back of the package) to determine if the product may have been affected. The establishment number which is recalled is "P-7211".

Food security officials claim that all packages with a counterpart establishment number "must be thrown or returned to the place of purchase".
