A TikToker did some quick math while picking up melatonin gummies.

In a TikTok published by contractor Preston Konrad , who uses the handle @prestonkonrad, the buyer says he "uncovered the biggest melatonin scam at CVS."

In the video, Konrad shows off a bottle of Natrol branded 5 milligram melatonin gummies, priced at $24.79, and a bottle of Natrol branded 10 milligram melatonin gummies, priced at $26.49 $.

Naturally, you might think the higher price is because you're paying for a stronger dose, but some simple math indicates that's not really the case.

Konrad continues by examining the portions of each bottle.

"Of the 10 milligrams, the serving size is two gummies, which means each is 5 milligrams," he says. "The serving size on [the 5-milligram bottle] is one gummy, so each gummy is 5 milligrams. Am I mistaken or is it the same thing?"

Konrad then consults with someone off-camera, who reiterates that both packets contain 140 gummies.

"It's the exact same product, just branded and rebranded," Konrad says, as he and his companion note that you'll finish the 10-milligram bottle of gummies faster and shell out $3 more. ae0fcc31ae342fd3a1346ebb1f342fcb

"It's a total rip off," Konrad says, while conceding that Natrol strains are "the best melatonin gummies."

This pricing model is not unique to CVS, as Target also offers different prices for Natrol Melatonin Gummies at 140 units, based on milligrams. At Target, for example, the 10 milligrams gummies are slightly more expensive, priced at $16.39, while 5 milligrams candies are $15.99.

However, if that still doesn't work for you, consider going to Walmart or Walgreens. According to these retailers' online prices, Natrol bottles will cost you the same amount.

At Walmart, the 10 milligrams bottle and 5 milligrams bottles (both containing 140 gummies) are the same price: $16.24. At Walgreens, both bottles are always exactly the same price (although higher than at Walmart): 5 milligrams And 10 milligrams Natrol Melatonin Gummies in 140 units both cost $24.99.
