Nationwide Pharmaceutical remembers its ferrous tablets with an enteric coating because they do not meet certain security requirements. Food supplements contain iron, they are therefore supposed to be in children's resistant packaging in the context of federal standards established by the Pertvention Packaging Act (PPPA).

"Iron drugs and food supplements containing 250 mg or more basic iron have Special packaging required Since 1978, "the CPSC has explained on its website.

According to the agency, iron has been responsible for many deaths of poisoning, but many consumers may not be aware of the toxicity of iron. The packaging of pharmaceutical iron supplements recalled "is not resistant to children, pose a risk of poisoning if the content is swallowed by young children," said the CPSC alert.

So far, no incident or injury has been reported following the lack of packaging with regard to Nationwide Pharmaceutical. But that does not mean that you just have to ignore the recall of the company.

"Consumers must immediately store the food supplements recalled in a safe location out of the reach of children," advised the CPSC.

The agency said consumers with the supplements recalled can also contact Nationwide Pharmaceutical to receive information on how they can eliminate the product. If you wish to obtain a refund for this, you can return the supplements to the retailer you have bought them.
