Muslim denomination traditions

In Islamic tradition, it is the father who is responsible for selecting a Muslim name for his child. This also consists in incorporating his own name into that of her son or daughter, although Muslim scholars note that fathers are strongly encouraged to settle on a name in close consultation with the mother of the child.

As such, Arabic names are generally made up of four or more titles: one to identify the child, one for their father, another for their grandfather, and Family name Also. This process is often accompanied by a Celebration known as Aqiqah , which generally occurs on the seventh day after birth.

Meanwhile, the family is encouraged to organize a festive meal where the goat, the sheep, the cow or the camel can be served. The child's hair is also cut or shaved (the term aqiqah actually comes from the Arabic word " Aq , "Which means cutting). The idea is to purify the child before presenting them to the community. The hair is then weighed and its equivalent is given to a work of charity in silver or gold.
