On March 30, a special episode of Inside Jeopardy! Podcast drop In honor of Jeoparday! , an annual tradition that celebrates the dissemination of the first Danger! Episode in 1964.

On the podcast, executive producer Michael Davies revealed that the production brings back the second chance tournament, introduced for the first time last fall. The competition gives players who have not won their first game another shot on Danger! Glory, which they would not generally have. (The game rules prohibit players who have lost participating in the unionized show a second time.)

"The difference now for our candidates this season is that they are aware that there is a second chance, so for those who play a big game, but perhaps do not become a Danger! Champion, they now know that there is a possibility for them to come back and compete, "producer Sarah Foss Said, adding that they do not yet know which players will compete, because there is "a lot of great competition".

The tournament will start in September, producers said before season 40.

"So, from the moment we come back in September for season 40, we are going to enter the playoffs [of season 39], starting by second chance," Davies told listeners. "And SO The regular season 40 ... will start after that. ""

It is not the only adjustment.

In a greater turn of events, a brand new tournament is also underway: Champions Wildcard.

According to Davies, the Nildcard champions "will fill the vacuum cleaner between second chance and the champions tournament", which also returns this fall. Davies explained that only the non-vainkers were eligible to return to the second chance, and only those who won four or more games could qualify for the Champions Tournament, leaving the players who won less than four games during Season 39.

"And all the people who won three episodes, or two episodes, or an episode?" Said Davies. "In a cot, I believe - a champions tournament - each champion should have the chance to compete."

According to Foss, all the champions who won one to three games during season 39 will be invited to return to the Wildcard Champions event.

The three tournaments will take 10 weeks.

The addition of Wildcard champions will get rid of and extend the structure of the playoffs, the second chance winners going to the champions Wildcard, and these winners passing to the Champions Tournament. According to Davies, the three tournaments will take around 10 weeks. This will explain an important part of the syndicated season typical of 46 weeks of the game. AE0FCC31AE342FD3A1346EBB1F342FCB

With the Champions Wildcard tournament, Foss added that viewers will have the chance to review some of their "favorites" of this season, including those who played decades ago for the first time.

"You will see some of your favorites as Martha Bath - She initially won in 1972 with Fleming art , she returned and won at the start of season 39 - she returns, "said Foss.

Other potential competitors include Lloyd Sy , who released a 13 -day champion Ray Lalonde , And Andy Tirrell , who beat a 21 -day champion, Pannullo cries . Another invitation will be sent to YOGESH RAUT , the controversial candidate who lost after a three -day sequence.

Davies followed by saying that no competitor has officially confirmed their return, but they hope that all the former winners of one, two and three days accept the invitation to play. Foss added that production provides for a "very eventful dead-season" while determining which candidates will qualify for which tournaments in the playoffs.

Fans have mixed criticism of these changes.

Production said that Danger! Maintains a "fairly healthy balance" between the regular season and the playoffs. As Davies believes that the game is a sport, he noted that it is also "tied with what is happening in the sports of the major league".

Some Danger! Viewers are enthusiastic about the new calendar, with a fan written on Reddit they like to get " Invested in players "However, other fans are not as jazz on the enlarged qualifying series, which reduces the number of possibilities for new players to compete.

"I understand that all these things, the supports and statistics of the tournament call on the sporting spirit," wrote a spectator on Reddit. "My personal preference is not that they do not exist, but that they were something separated, and that the powers that were thrown in danger. Then, have benefits that are fed by those who previously played in danger using the criteria they want. "

A Redditor said that tournaments are "overwhelming" and "really useless", while another said that although Davies is clearly passionate about the game, all these complementary modules "begin to feel as exaggerated".

"Quite already. I have had the tiredness of the tournament for some time now," said another Reddit comment. "The game becomes less [must] watch television with these endless gadgets."
