The best color to wear with your birth stone, according to stylists

Whether your birth stone is in ruby red or emerald green, there is a color that will help it stand out.

"Whether you believe in astrology or not, there is something magical on birth stars, "said Elizabeth Kosich , a certified image stylist and the founder of Elizabeth Kosich style . She explains that their origins began in the first century with philosophers establishing a link between the Exodus book 12 stones, the 12 months and their signs of the zodiac. Then, in 1870, Tiffany & Co. published a brochure of poems linked to each birth stone, and the tradition of carrying these colorful jewels while beautiful jewelry took off.

But when it comes to gathering an outfit, not all colors work with your birth stone. For example, a deep emerald necklace could get lost against a navy blue. This is why we have consulted stylists to get their reflections on the best color to wear with your birth stone. Get out for their advice.

January: Garnet

Although they come in several colors, the Grenats are most often a deep red. Kosich says to associate this stone with a dark green, because these two colors are in front of the other on the chromatic wheel. Following this logic will produce "the most balanced, most flattering and breathtaking agreements," she explains.

For a classic meeting night look, Mangiarotti Rosie , expert in mode and clothing and founder of Sticky-Bra company perkies , suggests wearing a matching red dress with your garnet jewelry.

February: Amethyst

The February birth stone goes from the light lilac to a deeper and more majestic purple. Regardless of the shade, Kosich suggests associating the amethyst with yellow, because it is opposed to purple on the chromatic wheel. If you worry, it could be too color, "small single studs, such as earrings or nose drilling, are an excellent daily look," she advises.

Mangiarotti says that because Amethyst is so dynamic in itself, she likes to associate it with "a naked color or blue jeans".

March: Aquamarine

Aquamarine is known to be soothing, and that makes sense when you look at its blue-green shade resembling water. Kosich recommends combining March's birth stone with a pastel color of pastel color, in particular a light orange. This will complete the casual vibrations of the stone, while a bright color would come up against.

How do you choose a color to combine a colorless stone? Well, you don't have to do it! "The diamonds accompany all the colors and each outfit of the weddings to meet friends for a coffee," notes Mangiarotti. Kosich says that diamonds are better distinguished against black clothes, especially for evening clothes. AE0FCC31AE342FD3A1346EBB1F342FCB

May: Emerald

Although it is red in front of the green on the chromatic wheel, you may want to avoid this Christmas combo. But in some Red places, is pink, which goes beautifully with Emerald and will not create a vacation atmosphere, explains Mangiarotti.

June: Pearl

Although June has three birth stones, Pearl is most frequently associated in the month (the other two are Alexandrite and Moonstone). Since the pearls are neutral and refined, associating them with a bright color is a welcome juxtaposition. "Go to a special event? Combine with any colorful dress to make a nice statement," explains Mangiarotti.

July: Ruby

Of course, Red Ruby Jewelry will appear against white, black or neutral, but Mangiarotti says that adding a touch of red elsewhere in your look will bring the drama. "Make this birth stone match with a red lipstick for a classic look! You can't go wrong with the color corresponding to your red shades", she shares.

August: Peridot

According to Kosich, lavender is the best color to wear with light green birth stone. Although purple is not precisely in front of the green on the chromatic wheel, they are just enough distant for the contrast of the two nuances to complement well, she says.

If you are open to a more daring look, Mangiarotti recommends playing the almost neon shade of Peridot by associating it with something just as vibrant. "Any bright neon color would create a catchy outfit."

September: Sapphire

Sapphire is another stone that can come in a variety of colors, but the jewels of deep royal blue are the best known. According to Mangiarotti, wear your sapphires with green clothes (just make sure it is not too dark a green that sapphire will get lost). "The depth and combo of the two are sure to raise your look."

October has two birth stones, Tourmaline, a light and opal pink gem, the latter being the most traditional choice. What is so unique about Opal is that it picks up the color you wear, so the options are wide open. "There are clues of all colors, so do not hesitate to become adventurous with your color choices," explains Mangiarotti. "It's your chance to wear the rainbow."

If you want to face on a single color, Kosich recommends playing pale pink nuances of Opal and associate it with a pastel mint green.

November: Citrine

November has two birth stones: Topaz and Citrine. Topaz is available in many different colors, but citrine is generally yellow or dark amber. Kosich says it is better to wear hot stones with cooler blue clothes. Mangiarotti agrees and says that this twinning will burst the two colors.

December: blue topaz

December has the most birth stones - turquoise, blue zircon, tanzanite and blue topaz - which are all in the blue family. Blue Topaz, however, may be the most popular. As it is such an icy shade, Kosich recommends wearing it with a warmer color like red or orange.

Mangiarotti also points to beach vibrations that this stone gives off and suggests choosing more neutral clothes. "I personally like to match the white with blue for a high and clear contrast look."
