Believe it or not, the beauty industry is a massive company that has a huge impact on our world world. Statistics show that 152.1 billion beauty and personal care products were sold just in 2018, and many of these units have not been recycled. Experts from the beauty industry are a happy company and large companies focus on best practices in terms of beauty products. "I am grateful that sustainability has become a major objective for consumer products recently," said Mia Davis, vice-president of sustainability and impact at Credo Beauty. "Sustainability in beauty means that the work we do now - the resources we extract, what we do - will not compromise the ability of people to do the same in the future."

But passing through more environmentally friendly products may seem an intimidating task to which many people just do not want to get involved. But the experts also express that it does not have to be complicated. "Many people think they have to abandon their lifestyles to be sustainable, but it really comes down to finding better alternatives," explains Jhanneu, an expert living with low waste and content creator.

In the spirit of being open -minded and taking small steps towards a better routine, here are some tips that experts say that you can start to integrate.

Use what you already have:

Many of us are guilty of having found something new to try to throw an old product that we may not want to use. Now it may be because it is not the right product for you, but it does not mean that it should land in the dumpster. The expert in eco-lifestyle, Ashlee Piper, says: "If something is not your color or does not work for you, remember to sell it on Poshmark, by offering it to your neighborhood does not buy anything from the Facebook group (makeup, even the makeup used, goes like hotcake cakes in my group), or give it to a friend who likes to experiment with new products. »»

Buy things done with less plastic packaging:

Packaging is an excellent starting point in terms of reducing your carbon footprint. "What you want to look for is something that has compostable packaging, easily recyclable, rechargeable or reusable - or better still, no packaging," said Piper.

Adopt the reuse and charging approach.

Look for rechargeable products or buy your own rechargeable containers and buy in bulk. "Whenever we can reuse or recharge, we must - this is the direction in which we all have to move in for consumer products," explains Davis.

Make your bathroom an environmentally friendly place.

After using all your previously detained items, the pleasure now begins to replace your basic items - such as cotton balls, menstrual supplies and razors - more ecological. "First use what you have, then replace these elements with reusable alternatives," explains Jhanneu.
