Austin Butler cannot stop talking like Elvis, says his vocal coach

The recent public appearances of the actor have people who wonder if his voice has changed for good.

Filming on the Film 2022 Elvis wrapped almost two years ago, but there is an aspect of the identity of the music icon that Austin Butler I still can't shake: his voice. When he accepted the price of the best actor in a dramatic film at the Golden Globes earlier this month (and when he hosted Saturday Night Live At the end of last year), viewers could not help notify that the star still speaks in the voice he played Elvis Presley . This is particularly noticeable because Butler is from California - not the South - and it is well documented that his voice sounded very different before playing the role. On social networks, fans wondered if he still acted, if his voice has changed permanently and if it is even aware that this happens.

Butler answered questions about his voice, and now one of his vocal coaches of Elvis also shared his thoughts. According to her, Butler can speak like Presley for the rest of his life. Read the rest to know why. AE0FCC31AE342FD3A1346EBB1F342FCB

Read this then: Elvis would have "stolen in a rage" each time this star was mentioned .

Butler took the development of the voice very seriously.

Dr Irene Bartlett , who worked with Butler on his singing voice for the film, was interviewed by ABC Gold Coast of Australia about their process. She said that She first worked with the actor To find his natural voice, then I went from there to develop a voice that would sound near that of Presley, while taking nothing too painful or unbearable. (Butler interpreted many songs from Presley at the start of his career in the film, but Bartlett noted that the voice of the icon had changed too much later in his life for the actor to sing these songs.)

Butler was worked on the voice even longer than anyone who did not expect him to do, said Bartlett. And its power can have something to do with it. "Due to the coated closures, he worked there all the time, and it is difficult to put out something on which you spent so much time," she said.

"He was never going to be - and [director] Baz luhrmann I didn't want him to be - an imitator from Elvis is the last thing they wanted to be, "Bartlett continued." What they wanted was a real link with the personality of Elvis and its history and that is what Austin worked on. ""

His new voice is "authentic".

Bartlett said that despite what viewers could think, Butler Golden Globes's speech was not an act.

"What you saw in this speech of the Golden Globes is him. It is authentic, is not set up," she said. "I'm sorry that people say that, you know, it always acts [but] he actually took [the voice] on board."

The voice coach added that there is no need to say how long the 31 -year -old will speak this way. "I don't know how long it will last, or if it will be there forever," she added.

In June 2022, roughly when Elvis hit theaters, Butler talked about the notable change in his voice. Questioned on this subject by She Australia , he said, "I hear a lot, but I didn't do anything else for two years [in addition to working on Elvis ], it's such a large part of life. I'm not surprised that he clicks. ""

He also said that the voice had worked as something of a shield in high stress situations. "Because I am a shy person, and when I know there are pieces of Elvis that I should click to go out on stage and be in front of a ton of people, surrounded by his name everywhere, there are triggers ", he said.

The actor added: "You spend so much time obsessing one thing, and it's really like muscle habits, your mouth can change. It's quite incredible. I know I change constantly. Check with me in 20 Years when I 'I played a lot of roles, who knows what I will look like! "

He even "thinks of" the voice.

"I don't even think about it. I don't think I still look like him," said Butler in the press room after Win the Golden Globe . "But I guess I must because I hear it a lot. You know, I often compare it when someone who has lived in another country for a long time. I have been three years when [the role] was my only Objective in life, so I'm sure there will always be pieces of my DNA which will always be linked in this way. "

There will be more chance of moviegoers to hear the actor's substantially deeper pipes. Butler is nominated for the Bafta and Screen Actors Guild prices and should be nominated for the best actor in the Oscars.
