Guy explained that when she tried to stop, the Hauts-Us asked if something had happened to her, personally.

"They were probably like:" Okay, although something did you? I said: "Well, you know, I have the impression that Lisa Bonet is missed in front of the public." "Well, has it ever happened to you? I said," If it happens to him, it happens to me. You lack respect for the distribution. You lack respect Sinbad . It shouldn't happen to me. I felt like it happened to me. ""

Guy did not realize that it was not an option for her to simply leave the show.

"I thought we could leave," she said. Hardison, who played his love Dwayne Wayne, laughed and added: "Haven't you read the small characters who said six years?"

The show underwent major changes from the start.

A different world was revised before season 2. Bonet and Marisa Tomei , who were the main characters of the first season, both left the show. Sinbad, one of the actors that the guy estimated was mistreated, was promoted as a main actor. Allen has joined the show as a producer to help the show to be a more precise representation of student life in a historically black college. Guy also played a more important role, because the relationship of Whitley and Dwayne has become a major objective of the show.

"The first season we were there, I was there to be the snotty [explanive] and he was there to be the awkward guy," said Guy During an interview in September to The breakfast club With hardison. "What Debbie has done is that she made our characters deeper and more realistic."

There were questions about the reasons why Bonet really left the show.

Hardison explained in their Club of breakfasts Interview that the main distribution was to sign for six years in case the show has been recovered for as many seasons. (It ended up lasting so long, from 1987 to 1993.) "I know, but I went to the producers and I tried to give my two -week notice," said Guy. "This first season, I tell you, it was eccentric, and I did not like the way they treated Lisa Bonet ... You lacked it in front of an audience, in front of me, I missed I too."

Guy and Hardison both claim that Bonet was discussed, including during the recordings. "I did not interfere on the set, but I said to myself:" Oh no. You don't treat it like that. "She had to hire security," said Guy.

The actors clarified that Bonet did not leave the show on these problems, but because it fell pregnant with girls Zoë Kravitz .

"They didn't want to show a pregnant black girl at university," said Hardison. "I thought it would have been an excellent tool and something that could inspire, because everything was inspiring, so why not? Because it is a real thing."
