Mamas and dads are one of the largest folk groups in the history of music, but their time together was actually quite short. The group was only active from 1965 to 1968 before meeting once again for a last album in 1971. Michelle was dismissed from the Mamas and the dads before the release of their second album in 1966. At the time, she was married to John, and he discovered that she had an affair. Gibson was already a musician when she joined the Mamas and the Dads. She was a singer and composer and collaborated with her partner thenJan Berry Du Duo Jan & Dean.
