Experts for the best virus have a new warning for all Americans, even vaccinated

There are new concerns with a processing method for COVID.

COVID ACertainly wreaked havoc in the United States in the past two years. Since May 18, there have been more than 82 million cases of coronavirus and nearly a million deaths in totalreported in the country, according to the centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). And while the situation has improved in many ways, the virus continues to be known. In the last week only, infections increased by more than 18% and hospitalizations increased by more than 24%, according to the CDC.

However, deaths are not increasing at the moment. This is probably due to the number of advances we have made in terms of the fight against the coronavirus, including the development of vaccines and treated treatments. Pfizer was congratulated for its mRNA vaccine, but the company also created an oral antiviral pill called Paxlovid, which was authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in December 2021.AE0FCC31AE342FD3A1346EBB1F342FCB

Paxlovid is aCOVID TREATMENT Designed to be caught at home to prevent those who are most at risk of severe covid from becoming so sick that they must be hospitalized, according to Yale Medicine. It has become more and more popular in recent months, having been used by notable personalities like the vice-presidentKamala Harris. It has even been a priority at other treatments cowped by the National Institutes of Health (NIH)Due to a clinical trial noting that it had an efficiency of 89% to reduce the risk of hospitalization and death.

"I think it's the start of a" game changer "" ""Scott Roberts, MD, a specialist in infectious diseases of Yale medicine. "This is really our first effective oral antiviral for this virus. This shows a clear advantage, and it can really prevent hospitalization and death in people who are at high risk."

But in recent weeks, a worrying trend has appeared in relation to the antiviral pill. According toForbes, more and morePeople report that they had relapses coche after taking Paxlovid. And it even happens to people who are up to date on their cocovio vaccinations.

Peter Hooz, MD, the dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine of the Baylor Medical College which is both entirely vaccinated and stimulated, recently tweeted that he hadCovid recovered With two negative tests and felt good after completing a five -day Paxlovid course. But five days later on May 17, he said that he woke up with a flowing nose, sore throat and a positive cocovid test.

"So, either this post-Paxlovid relapse is real ... or something," tweeted Hooz. "We will end up understanding this, but always a puzzle. I don't feel so terrible, it's like a bad cold ... A [second] Paxlovid help lessons? Not a lot of roadmap."

Now, the FDA is studying the possibility of relapse of a post-paxlovid cocovio. The agency said it was "aware of the relationships of certain patients who developedRecurring symptoms COVID-19"After completing a Paxlovid course." In some of these cases, the patients tested negative on a viral Sars-Cov-2 direct and then tested positive test, "said the FDA.

According to the agency, there is currently no evidence that there is an advantage to extend the course of this treatment to 10 days or to repeat a paxlovid course in patients who know a relapse cocovated after having completed a course of initial treatment.

But despite relapses reports, the best virus experts always recommend using this treatment.

"I would like to reiterate that Paxlovid is now widely available in community pharmacies", "John Farley, MD, director of the Infectious Disease Office of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research of New Drugs at the FDA, in a press release. "There are strong scientific evidence that it reduces the risk of hospitalization and death in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 at a high risk of progression to a serious disease."
