Sephora takes 15% promise to promote black beauty companies on its shelves.
Beauty Giant Sephora officially announced his plans to take part in the promise of 15%, devoting 15% of his shelves to brands belonging to blacks.
The retailer made the announcement on June 10, becoming theFirst big retailer to take the promise.
The promise of 15% was created byAurora JamesFounder and creative director of the brand of sustainable shoes and accessories Brother VELLIES, in order to expand the public for black brands and offering companies of large companies a concrete way to support black companies.

Call the decision of Sephora "A historical contribution to the fight against systemic racism and discrimination" on the15% pledge Instagram, James congratulated the beauty retailer for "their responsibility and commitment as a member of the mission to put billions in the black community".

Sephora was one of the four companies initially called by James' non-profit, with a target, whole food and Shopbop fashion retailers all appointed by the promise of 15% as candidates desired to join the initiative. James has since asked Walmart, SAKS, Barnes & Noble, Home Depot, Net-A-Porte and Medmen to do the same.
