The drugs concerned include the following: 56 Chantix tablet accounts 0.5 mg with lots of lots 00019213 and expiry date 2022; 56-Counting cylinders of Chantix 0.5 mg tablets with lot number EC6994 and expiry date of May 2023; 56-COUNT CHANTIX tablet bottles 1 mg with lot number EA6080 and expiry date of March 2023; 56-Counting bottles of Chantix 1 mg tablets with lot number EC9843 and expiry date March 2023; and eight of many cartons of Chantix containing a blister pack of 0.5 mg tablets and a 1 mg blister tablet with lots of lots 00020231 and an expiry date of 2021 of September; Lot number 00020232 and an expiry date of November 2021; Lot number 00020357 and an expiry date of 2021 Dec. Number of Lot 00020358 and an expiry date of 2022 of January; Number of lot 00020716 and an expiry date of 2022 of January; Lot number and1600 and an expiry date of 2023 of January; Lot number and1607 and an expiry date 2023 of January; and lot number and1609 and an expiry date of 2023 January.

The drug can contain an ingredient likely to increase the risk of cancer.
The batch of Chantix are drawn from the market after its discovery they could contain levels of n-nitroso-varenicline, a type of nitrosamine, which exceeds the acceptable daily admission level (ADI) defined by Pfizer.
