Surprising sign you could have a heart attack, the study says
Discuss a change in the next reading of blood pressure at the doctor.
Monitoring your blood pressure is an important tool for preventing some of the most common killers of US heart disease, a heart attack and a stroke, according to theUnited States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention- All that is associated with high blood pressure.A third of the population suffers fromHypertension. Most people tend to measure their blood pressure on one arm. However, new research revealed that "robust evidence" that rely on a reading of an arm could be a mortal error.Read more information and to ensure your health and health of others, do not miss theseSure sign that you have "Long" Covid and may even know.
Get your blood pressure checked in both arms, study advice
A meta-analysis of 24 global studies published in the journalHypertensionUrges the importance of taking readings of the blood pressure of both weapons, confirming that a difference in both is linked to an increased risk of heart attack, stroke and death.
"We have long known that a difference in blood pressure between the two arms is linked to the poorest health results. The big numbers involved in the interrupt-IPD study help us understand this in more detail", principal author , Chris Clark, a main clinical speaker at the University of Exeter Medical School in the United Kingdom stated in aAccompanying Statement. "He tells us that the more the difference in blood pressure between the arms, the higher the cardiovascular risk, it is therefore essential to measure both arms to establish the patients at risk considerably."
The blood pressure increases and decreases in a cycle with each pulse and is measured in units of mercury millimeters (mmHg). There are two digits offered during a reading, with the upper (systolic) reading representing the maximum blood pressure and the lower (diastolic) value is the minimum blood pressure. High blood pressure (alias hypertension) is indicated by high systolic blood pressure.
"A significant difference between the measurements of systolic blood pressure in both arms could indicate a narrowing, or stiffening of the arteries, which can affect the blood flow", explain the accompanying study materials. "These arterial changes are recognized as another risk marker for a heart attack, a stroke or a subsequent early death, and should be studied for treatment."
According to the findings of the researchers, each MMHG difference was found between the two arms, a 10-year elevated risk of new angina, a heart attack or a stroke, occurring of one percent; New angina, a heart attack or cerebral vascular accident.
