Sichuan Hot Chicken Panda Express is a delight for the amant spice

The melting of Nashville hot chicken spices with sichuan pepper makes a quick full-food contest.

It might not be a combination you thought you would see on thefast food Market, but Panda Express Hot chicken is officially one thing. I tried the new chicken buying offer at the American Chinese chain, and I eat with pleasure again.

Panda Express jumped into the specialty menu item Limited duration only on July 17 with their newSichuan Hot Chicken. The restaurant tested its hot chicken mashup Nashville and Sichuan spicy fried chicken pepper in a few places last year, and obviously, it tickles quite taste bud to justify a deployment at the national level.

What is Sichuan pepper, the inspiration behind the Panda Express Hot Chicken?

Nashville hot chicken is simply the fried chicken dosed with a generous tablespoon of cayenne pepper pepper. And Sichuan pepper-a largely unknown ingredient for Americans, is a seed that has an exceptional and surprising taste. It's not really "hot" like typical pepper pepper, no pungent like black pepper. But it follows with a striking, aftertaste of tingling language.

It is rare that you get to have a new culinary experience, especially to a fast food joint. But chances are improved, like a wide variety of fast-service restaurants are constantly refining and concocting new combos to get fast gastronomes that are curious in the door. This is the case with sichuan pepper.

I first met Sichuan pepper atChinese mission In New York is Chinatown. The award winner and a Culinarily curious restaurant uses pepper in a variety of dishes. And when applied to a dish in a generous dose, it puts your tongue on an amazing trip that starts in the tasty city and ends up finishing with rocks-like pop eruption.

It is an experience that remains with you, and the uninitiated, it can have an entirely unexpected effect. So when Panda Express brought their version to the market (after extensive research), I had to choose a place in Raleigh, North Carolina, the location.

What is chicop offerings?

Panda Express fried chicken offers come in three sizes: small, medium and large. The chicken is a main course, even if it does not come with anything else. You can get the sichuan chicken in regular quantity of spices, or you can bang the command until spicy "extra" if you feel brave. I went with two orders of the average size, which is about six offers, with a regular order of chicken and the other extra-spicy.

What you get is simple: a bag or a box of all white meat chicken "hand thrown into a sauce with spicy pepper of the sichuan and surmounted by a pinch of a mix of secret spices. I dig in the regular version first. There was a good crunch on the panic (though a little thick, which seems to be the norm at fast food places), with a slight cayenne pepper flavor to come through. But the "spruce" sichuan flavor was very subtle, which could be calculated not to scare the newbies with pepper punch. Basically, it is your standard fried chicken offer with a hint of heat and a tongue of unique flavor.

The extra spice was next, and that is where you will find a much closer approximation of a real pepper shot of Sichuan. Pepper has a slow combustion, although it's not a spicy hot feeling. So at first, I thought there was not going to have a lot of difference between the two flavor designations. But within 30 seconds, a light and tingling pop started on the back of the tongue. It was nice and fun and a little exciting! This feeling listed for about an hour. And from time to time, the singular sensory experience would come in a stimulating and attractive way.

Final verdict

For adventurous eaters who love some spices and a little novelty in their fast food, panda express chicken is sure to be a success. It is a solid fried chicken tender on its own, but the fusion of traditional hot chicken breeds Nashville with pepper-torsion actually a real disinterest of rapid casual competition.

I have no scruples to hit them again every time a desire to tender chicken strikes. I hope the tingling taste will attract for a long time in Panda Express and that it makes its way into several dishes in various restaurants.
