A California restaurant has thought of a way to limit the contact between servers and customers. Stephane Bombet, owner of faith and flower at L., decided to put what he calls "landing areas" at each table. Each two-person table has another set up next door and each stand has a bar trolley. This is where servers place drinks, condiments, food and check. Once they are at a safe distance, customers can take the items. Then, when they are finished, cups, plates, bowls and silverware are replaced on the server landing area to recover.
"You are not allowed to present things at the table and fly over our customers," said Bomtte theLos Angeles Times. "A landing zone is our idea to make it safer and easier."
The servers of faith and flowers wear masks and gloves typical of other restaurants. If you come out soon to eat, you will also notice other changes to how the servers serve. Do not expect someone to come and fill your glass with water - you will probably get aNew glass each time.
A change of server involves menus. ATennessee Restaurant uses QR codes To allow customers to pull the menu on their phones instead of touching a single server hands.
