This beloved catering chain lost 60% of its customers
Here's what things are in store for 2021.
Sitdown Restaurants have suffered since last spring and the beginning of 2021 is no different.STEKHOUSE OUTBACK,Olive garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Chile, and more top chains have had 30% less customers at the end of 2020 compared to the end of 2019 of the 2019 pre-pandemic. But none has a decrease in traffic as significant asDenny's.
For the week starting November 30, 2020, Denny's saw 52.7% less traffic in its restaurants compared to the previous year. As holidays get closer, these figures continued to dive. At the beginning of 2021, the chain faces a 59.8% drop in traffic, according to new data fromPlacer.ai. (In touch:More Saddes restaurant closures in your state.)
Of course, a reason for the fall is because of new restrictions on indoor restoration inA number of states. (Although the number of coronavirus cases is in place inAlmost all statesSome states haverefused to close the restaurants.) The winter time is also complicating outdoor restoration prospects.
Denny's has 1,650 locations in all 49 states and Washington D.c. With two locations, the country's capital has the least restaurants - as well as Alaska and Vermont. Delaware is the only state without Denny's, while Florida is 125 years old, Texas has 199 and California has 376.
The channel is currently working on the expansion of two "virtual brands", which focus on hamburgers and background; Offer a Curbside pickup andNew offers for 2021; and feel confident that things are looking for, according toNews from the Nation's restaurant.
