Taco Bell is slowly but surely to promise expand vegetarian menu options this year. AfterReinstatement of potatoes, which are a popular vegetarian substitution for proteins in their articles, the chain already tests its new herbal protein that wasannounced as being in development earlier this year.
According to a press release, the first exclusive plant-based protein of the chain is a boldly spicy concoction made from a mixture of peas and chickpeas, which is currently tested in a new taco crazerland (which rhymes with " vegetarian"). The Taco itself looks like the Supreme Crunchy Taco Esso and includes shredded cheddar cheese, crispy lettuce, dice tomatoes and reduced sour cream, served in a crunchy corn hull. So now, even vegetarians can enjoy classic Taco Bell items without sacrificing any of this signature flavor. Not to mention, this option is about 10 lighter calories than that with beef meat.

And vegans can also rejoice - the new protein is certified vegan by the American Vegan Association, which opens a brand new world of options for Vegan menus customizations.
The only negative side is that the new herbal protein and Taco Cravetarians are currently being tested only at a single location of the Taco Bell in Tustin, California and have disappeared after April 29.
