Training for a hard executioner
"66 is usually not typically the age at which people start training for a journey of 10 more than 10 miles, military style. But that's exactly what I did. My trip started in December 2015. Weighing 198 pounds just 5'1 and knowing my family history of hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes and more, my future was not beautiful. As a woman, mother, friend, partner of Business and CEO of Scher Wind Wizard International, I was responsible for many people and being in good health to fulfill these responsibilities was necessary. I decided to stop eating sugar, white flour, white rice and reduce my sodium intake.
"Then, when a colleague asked me to participate in a difficult race of Mudder for charity, I was intrigued. I started working with a personal trainer 6 days a week, and I had completely engaged in The race. Since then, I have lost more than 70 pounds. At age 66 and only nine months in my trip to get in shape, I finished my first difficult race of Mudder with my colleagues at the dryer wizard of the vent and I have never felt better. I could not complete every 20 obstacles the race, so I will train for another year and will complete the Michigan Mudder next year to try To conquer all obstacles. I will continue to improve my fitness level and look for other opportunities to push me outside my comfort zone. "- -Terry Reuer, 66
Combination of cardio and bodybuilding
"I lost weight through the diet and exercise. My diet went to Atkins Low slams that many diabetics follow. I changed from beer to Jim Beam and lost 35 pounds. I stopped To drink completely and lost 24 pounds. I burned fat through a combination of cardio and weightlifting.
"My cardio started walking and turned to hiking. I found that climbing altitudes really burned the weight and opened the lungs. I also climb the stairs to Rock Rocks' amphitheater nearby. I have started with five-pound weights and 100 representatives per session. Now I have 45-pound dumbbells and make a representative for every year of my life or 56 representatives. If I can not complete all 56, I break representatives in sets until I receive 56 total. "-Scott Deuty, 56
Turn my life after a loss
"I have always had a bit of weight problem, in my teens and early twenties, I kept under control. In my 40s, I started being the full-time caregiver for my mother who was sick and I spent 10 years doing this and work. I do not regret it, I did it because she had been a good mother and she had taken care of me. When she died in 2010, I wanted to eat what I wanted. I got up to 262 pounds. I was pre-diabetic. My doctor told me that she was worried. She wanted me to keep going to go On medicines and I said, "Wait, please let me try to do it alone. '
"I started on a food program called regime to go. It's a healthy food that I do not have to cook. I started on about 1,400 calories a day and I am now about 1,200 calories a day. About the same period, I started my weight loss trip, I saved a puppy from our local shelter that was very energetic and needed long daily walks that jump my exercise program. I now promise the dog twice a day and go to the gym about three times a week.
"I started in January 2016. For me, it was about health. I'm not going to have a younger, it's not going to be easier. You have to be now or never. I make a motorcycle Harley . I roll with a group. I'm 54 years old and I started going up in my early 20 years. The bike feels much bigger since I lost weight. I have more endurance. "-Tina Marcus, 54
Without fast corrections
"I was not younger and I knew that if I was going to go as I lived, I probably do not live up to play with future grandchildren. The shape I was made of me feeling old. My Spirit does not feel old and my actions are not that of an elderly person, I needed to get my body to align with my brain and thoughts.
"I knew I needed to find a way to live a healthy life that was sustainable, my thought was if I can not live this new way for the next 40 years, I will not do it. No gimmicks, No quick corrections, no replacement shakes or meal plans. I wanted to eat the real grocery food and exercise moderately 3-4 days a week. If I could understand that I knew I knew I could bear that for the rest of my life. Losing weight is simple, it's just not easy. I ate 300-400 calories a day under my basal metabolic rate (BMR) and energy expenses Total Daily (TDEE). I use force training like my exercise because it is the most beneficial for your body, muscle and health of bones.
"Whatever you do, make sure you can eat and live in this way for the rest of your life. Get your nutrition and nutrition about 85% of the time do not try 100% all the time. It's about being consistent, not perfect. By all means, eating real food. "- -Mike Ferreri, 55
