You will never get wine again in the same way, the government says
Your favorite bottle is about to change the size, thanks to new rules.
The new alcohol and tobacco tax regulations and the Trade Office (TTB) have been announced, amending the required wine sizes and allowing smaller bottles.
Previously, there were nine sizes of acceptable wine and, while some people wanted that to stay, three others were added.until December 29, amendment. Now, places that sell alcohol canSell bottled wines from 200 to 250 and 355 milliliters. The size of 200 millituditer is about half a pint, while the 250 is about the size of a thin aluminum bobbin. "Although TTB has been initially proposed to generally eliminate filling standards for wine and distilled spirits, TTB does not adopt this proposal at that time," reads the official document. "The amendments described in this final rule will provide flexibility bottles by allowing the use of added container size and facilitate the flow of goods in internal and international trade, while providing broader consumer purchase options. "
The amendment also modifies sizes that distilled spirits are allowed to be sold. The eight, ranging from 1.75 liters to 50 milliliters, now comprise 700, 720 and 900 milliliters, as well as 1.8 liters.
