Nearly 100 types of ice cream are recalled, says FDA

More than 95 velvet ice types are the subject of a new voluntary recall because they could potentially be contaminated byListeria, according toAn announcement of a posted company by American food and drugs (FDA).

The affected ice cream was made and distributed on March 24, 2021. It was sent to supermarkets, drug addicts and convenience stores in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Western Virginia. Routine tests found the problem, inviting the reminder. (In touch:The 7 healthiest foods to eat right now)

"We carry out this voluntary recall in cooperation with the FDA in exchange for the well-being and safety of our customers and our consumers," said Luconda Dager, CEO of Velvet Ice Cream, said in the announcement. "We continue to be determined to serve high quality ice cream consumers and Sherbet products."

Listeria Bacteria can survive food products after refrigeration and freezing. The symptoms of an infection include chills, diarrhea, fever, muscle pain and nausea. It can also infect the nervous system, causing a steep neck, headaches, convulsions, confusion or loss of equilibrium. Although symptoms can grow earlier, it could take 30 days or more to start.
