Walmart can now deliver Covid-19 tests to your door
They use this new technology tested earlier this year!
The delivery of Walmart drones started earlier this year withGrocery deliveries in North Carolina. Now they use the new technology to deliver COVID-19 tests directly to customer homes,Provide safe and contactless test experience. If you live in the northern area of Las Vegas or Cheektowaga, New York, and your home is close to your Walmart room, you could now be eligible. And the kits are free!
TheA new program sends a drone At a single-family home within a 1 mile radius of a Walmart location. A self-collection kit is inside a Walmart bag hanging from the drone on a rope. The drones come from the company Draneup and can feel where cars, trees and other great things are. Once the drone has reached the house, the kit is placed in a clear area like a sidewalk, an alley or a courtyard.
The kit comes with a nasal rod and a prepaid shipping label. Once the customer is finished, the test is sent by the mail. Instead of returning to Walmart via another drone, tests go to a laboratory called Quest Diagnostics. There areNo contact with another person throughout the experience. (For more information on coronavirus safety and purchases,There is only one way to contract COVID-19 when grocery races, says CDC.)
The company does not say how fast and how far the droneup drones fly. For the delivery process in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Walmart used Flytrex drones. These can travel up to 32 mph and transport more than 6 books of cargo. They can also reach houses about 3 miles from the store.
Through the different delivery tests of drones, Walmart hopes to see exactly what they can do with the following technology.
"We can learn a lot from our drone delivery drivers to determine drone roles can play in the pandemic response, health care and retail service," said Tom Ward, Senior Vice President of the Customer Product. "We hope that the delivery of self-collection collection kits will shape non-contact-free test capacities and will continue to strengthen Walmart's innovative ways to use drone delivery in the future."
If you do not live in an area with drone delivery, definitely note theNew modifications you will see at your local Walmart On your next trip!
