How to keep fresh cookies longer

This is how to make sure your homemade cookies will remain cool until the end of the week.

ManufacturingHomemade cookies is a hobby for many, especially around the holidays. During the month of December, you can receive several batch of cookies from various lovers of your life, and you probably make yourself for holiday festivals, cookie swaps and gifts. The question is: What is the key to making cookies stay fresh longer?

David Zaquine, Pastry chef and owner of the Sweet Rehab Dessert Bar in New York, and the revenue developer and wellness writerBeth Lipton We gave useful tips on how you can make your homemade cookies stay fresh longer.

What is the best way to make freshly cooked cookies last longer?

For soft biscuits, Lipton says you have to store them in a sealed air-tight container with parchment between the layers and a slice of white bread in the container. Why? The moisture of bread will help keep the cookies mild. If you prefer crisp cookies, you can skip bread and leave the container slightly open to circulate.

Lipton offers some additional advice on how you can properly store cookies so they stay soft and succulent:

  1. Keep different types of cookies in individually sealed containers, do not combine them in a container. Why? If combined, the different flavors of cookies and textures will begin to mix together.
  2. Make sure your cookies are completely cooled before storing.
  3. If this will be more than two days, freeze cookies.

What could happen if cookies sit on a table without cover or lid for a few days?

"When you cook cookies, if you observe their stove time, cookies remain soft and good all day and can sit on a table without cover or lid for two days," says Zaquine. "If you spend on the recommended cooking time, cookies become hard very quickly if they are sitting without coverage or lid."

Are there special cookie flavors that tend to last longer than others?

Zaquine says thatChocolate chip cookies Tend to stay fresh longer than other types of cookies, especially those with nuts in them.

"The chocolate is soft and the nuts are difficult, then when you mix the chocolate with the dough, the chocolate bits physically take a part of the space of the dough in the bowl, which finally makes the lot softer", explains Zaquine.

In short, any bake cookie with a soft main ingredient will help keep the surrounding dough softer longer. The leader even recommends placing a chocolate square at the top of each chocolate chip cookie before placing it in the oven!
