I gave up chocolate for 2 weeks, here's what happened

A self-proclaimed chocolate addict has made cold turkey and has seen surprising results.

I do not remember a time whenChocolate was not part of my diet. When I want asnackI eat a bar of chocolate. At any time I orderdessertI go for the chocolate charged option - cookies with ice cream brownies, chocolate in any form is welcome. I even turned toChocolate hummus As a way to add some of my favorite sweet stuff to a fruit salad.

Yes, it's safe to say that I'm addicted to chocolate. So, what would happen if I just decided to stop eating chocolate?

Well, that's exactly what I did when I dropped chocolate for two weeks.

And I'm really changed forever.

What happens when you stop eating chocolate?

I went cold Turkey, which was a bit difficult at first. See, I ate chocolatevarious times a day. I would have a cup of reese peanut butter every time I wandered by the dish of candy in my living room, added strawberries covered with frozen dark chocolate to my smoothie morning and would make me a mini ice cream sundae with a part of theHalf cooked ice cream of Ben & Jerry It was in my freezer for dessert in the evening. Yes, chocolate was a key component at each meal.

So, stop that completely was a little rough at first. My body wanted (and missing) sugar, because it's easy to see that I wore too far too faradded sugar during the day. I found myself thinking about chocolate because I could not eat it anymore and in my kitchen, there is a lot of temptation. Cookies, granola bars and peanut M & Ms are there all the time. It was important that I can not purge my cooking, but let me face the guilty every day of this two-week period to really test my will.

It's really a test because I found myself a little more irritable and grumpy the first 48 hours. Over time, my emotional dependence on comfort chocolate would give me disappeared. I revealed that I could resist and started getting used to life without chocolate.

But the biggest take away from my two-week chocolate is the effect he had on my skin.

I had troubleacne Since I was 16 years old and over 10 years later, I still fight with hormonal cystic acne. I try to follow the outbreaks and keep the note ofWhat I put in my body time when my skin decides to actAnd for the two weeks, I abstained from chocolate, I noticed a major difference. I did not have great painful thrusts under my skin that I became so used to dealing with. I have always had some small emerging eruptions, but with carefully applied creams, they left in a day or two.

Eating tons of chocolate, I feel, did not help me my skin at all and maybe aggravate things. The two weeks I went without her, I could feel my face when I washed it and there were no big bumps. It was a major step forward for me and motivated me to really think about eliminating the chocolate of my diet after this two-week cleaning.

Will I eat chocolate again?

The short answer: yes. Once I have done safely beyond the 14 day rating, I treated myself at a mini hershey snack bar that was sitting in my refrigerator waiting for me. This little bar was enough for me, I had no more chocolate for another three days after that. The desires seemed to have disappeared and I think it's because I saw as positive results of my chocolate detox. I do not say that I will not eat chocolate more because it's always one of my favorite foods. I will be smarter with my choices now, though. I limit myself to indulging once a week from now, and I will be aware of the type of chocolate I eat. I will seek to climb on a small room that is 70% cocoa when I'm in the mood, likeThe dark chocolate has been proven to have many health benefits.

These days of consumption of each piece of chocolate that I fell well left. If it's a little sacrifice, I have to do to help my chances to finally have a clear skin, I'm here for that.
