Not only is it wise to eat foods that make your get good, but it's also important to eat foods that help keep your skin healthy. Choosing good foods get even more important if you have a skin condition, such as eczema. On10% of the American population, or 31.6 million people, has a form of eczema, an umbrella term that includes several different conditions causing dry skin, itching and discolored. First things first: What is eczema?

"Eczema is an inflammatory skin condition that can cause skin irritations, light bulbs and rashes," says McGrane.

So, what is the eczema regime?

The eczema diet simply refers to foods that should be eating to avoid the fighting ofinflammation.

"Some foods can bring the body to free compounds that cause inflammation, which can in turn lead to eczema flowers," says McGrane. "The regimage of eczema focuses on avoiding foods that can trigger this response and [instead] focuses more on foods that can help reduce inflammation and symptoms."

What foods prevent eczema from breaking?

All these foods have one thing in common: they work to eliminate inflammation in the body.

  • Fat fish. Salmon, mackerel and sardines are all excellent sources ofOMEGA-3 fatty acids, which reduce inflammation in the body.
  • Fruits and vegetables raised in quercetin.McGrane says that quercetin is: "A type of flavonoid that has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Examples include apples, cherries, blueberries, broccoli, spinach and cabbage."
  • Foods rich in probiotic. Probiotics Are the good type of bacteria that have been demonstrated to promote good health and facilitate digestion. Naturally rich foods in probiotics includeyogurt with living (and active) cultures,kefirand fermented foods such asmiso And jump unpasteurized.

What are the food the worst for eczema?

"The hard part to know what foods to avoid are that it varies according to an individual," said McGrane. "For some, eggs could lead to an increase in symptoms, while for others, eggs are perfectly fine, but nuts have a problem."

Since foods that trigger eczema are respective to each individual, McGrane says it is important to work with a dietician to help identify foods might trigger your differences.

There are, however, some foods, however, more likely to cause inflammation than others.

  • Foods that are rich inadded sugars. Sweet foods such asa soda And desserts can increase inflammation, says McGrane.
  • Dairy products. "Dairy is a common food allergy and some people report an improvement of symptoms by going on aDiet without dairy products," she says.
  • Strongly transformed foods. Processed foods that include preservatives, food dyes and excess added fat sugars can potentially cause inflammation in the body.

Can follow the eczema regime finally reverse the condition of the skin?

"While the diet can help reduce the frequency and severity of the gaps, there is currently no evidence that the diet can not reverse condition," says McGrane.

The dietitian says that, although there is not an ideal diet, those who have an eczema should follow, the best way to determine which foods you should avoid being clear is to try a plan of elimination. Of course, consult an authorized dietitian is also recommended.
