What are some of the best ways to clean the inside of your microwave?
McGee has a cleaning mix that you can do at home that will eliminate the light spots and remove the odors from the inside of the unit.
What you will need:
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of flat dish soap
- A bottle of spray
Instructions:
- Remove the trays and turntables and dip in hot and soapy water.
- Vaporize the interior of the microwave and the door liberally with a house cleaner and close the door.
- Set the timer to a minute and press Start.
- Open the door and let the interior cool.
- Use a wet microfiber cloth to wipe up, sides and bottom below.
Do not forget to wipe the interior of the microwave door with the microfiber fabric too.

How do you clean robust microwave stains?
"For cooked foods, you may need to repeat the process more than once," said McGee. "For red food stains, a bleaching spray cleaner can help eliminate these spots."
