The British Consumer Protection Organization is seriously puzzled by the results of studying the effectiveness of fitness gadgets. Most of them have serious errors in the testimony. But on the basis of these testimony, people take vital decisions that directly affect their health.

The reason for such disappointing conclusions was the results of studies conducted during the annual London Marathon with a distance of 42 km 195 m. At the request of the employees of the organization, all members of the marathon used fitness trackers of various brands.

The lowest results showedGarmin Vivosmart 4.. This gadget monstrously "lagged behind" from his colleagues and the marathon distance was detained when the runner overcame the distance in 59, 54 km. Garmin's management immediately commented on the current situation, explaining that their device does not use GPS, and therefore it cannot accurately show the measurements of the distance traveled.

Not the best results showed a popular one in the marketSAMSUNG GEAR S2 Sportsallowing you to track consumers reading the pulse, the level of daily activity, water consumption and caffeine.

The list of "losers" was also includedMisfit Ray, Xiaomi Amazfit Bip andPolar A370..

All listed gadgets stably show low results. The 42-kilometer distance they considered passed when at the reality athletes were overcome more than 50 km.

W.Huawei Watch 2 Sport - Another problem. This gadget, on the contrary, is in a hurry. And the passage of the distance was noted in advance approximately on the segment of 30 km.

The most accurate results wereApple Watch.. The error of their measurements is approximately 5 km. What also grieves.

Such studies also conducted scientists from Stanford University. In their experiment, 60 volunteers took part. While they performed various exercise, scientists compared the data of their gadgets with data from specialized medical devices, such as calorimeter and electrocardiograph. So, if there were practically no problems with the measurement of the pulse of the devices, nobody coped with the counting of the true level of the calories spent. The measurement error of calories was monstrous, and some gadgets reached 92%.

Do you use fitness trackers? What do you think about this?
