14 reasons why you are really anxious about chocolate

From nutritional deficiencies to cultural myths, here are all the reasons why your body longs so much that snicker bar.

Chocolate is a guilty pleasure that most of us have. And many of us look at Google feeling impotent, with questions like "Why do I crave the chocolate?" Or "Why am I addicted to chocolate?" Do not worry, you're not alone. Even if you are not sweet by nature, chocolate has that sweet way to make you signs with cravings before leaving you in a deep drop of sugar.

From nutritional deficiencies to cultural myths, here are all the reasons why your body longs so much that snicker bar.

1. A myth of premenstrual syndrome

Because society tells us that we need it when we are with premenstrual syndrome. Did you know that the only scientific test behind that is the fact that chocolate has been marketed over the years? Therefore, we think that "we need" at that time of the month, all thanks to the misinformation and the cultural conditioning that has been communicated.

2. Goodbye to stress

It is a powerful stress relief. Anyone who has lived in 2020 knows of the powerful relief that can be. But although it seems like a quick solution for your bad mood, it will make your blood sugar levels go up, and you will want it anymore.

3. Added sugars

Unless you are buying a black chocolate bar at your local organic store, you are probably charging with milk chocolate, which is full of a low amount of cocoa and a high amount of sugar and carbohydrates. Add flavors such as caramel or marshmallow and you will have a mountain of sugar that will create more cravings.

4. Magnesium deficiency

Only 20% of people get the magnesium that they really need, and the need for this important vitamin is almost always deficient in women. Consume many whole grains and dark-leaf vegetables if you worry your magnesium levels, and talk to your doctor about it.

5. Milk chocolate vs. dark chocolate

We have all heard "But the chocolate is good for you!" Unfortunately, that only applies to black chocolates with a high cocoa content. Chocolate with milk is very unhealthy and fattening. In fact, black chocolate should only be consumed a few paintings at a time if you want to obtain antioxidants and other health benefits you can provide.

6. Hunger pain

When you are hungry, you tend to go for rapid unhealthy solutions. Your body wants fast carbohydrates, and refined sugars can give them. Unfortunately, they will only give you a sugar rush and they will leave you more hungry than ever. We suggest you drink a glass full of water and eat a healthy sandwich before reaching the dessert.

7. Need for caffeine

Some of us use chocolate to wake up a little. Chocolate contains caffeine (black chocolate has more) and this can stimulate central nervous system, which increases chocolate addiction. Eat mix of nuts to increase energy, not a Hershey's bar!

8. Free dopamine and serotonin

Each time your body experiences something pleasant, it releases substances that alter the mood called dopamine and serotonin. Your levels of dopamine and serotonin are partially decided by genetics, but food preferences and chocolate consumption can play a great role in it. The chemical tryptophan (the amino acid of the turkey that makes you overload you on Thanksgiving) is also present in chocolate and prepares the way for serotonin.

9. A natural aphrodisiac

The chocolate-covered strawberries are famous for their seduction, and there is a reason behind that. Chocolate contains theobromine, which is a chemical known to excite the heart rate and encourage excitement. A meal that makes us want to become crazy is obviously going to be addictive ...

10. Pregnancy

This is one of the main reasons why women with children can sometimes eat a wild amount of junk food and still not feel satisfied. Eating chocolate during pregnancy can be really beneficial for you, just make sure you have many flavonoids in what you consume, instead of a cheap candy bar.

11. It's like a drug, and your brain also thinks it

A natural chemist of the brain called ENKEFALINA is a great reason why chocolate feels so addictive for humans. In a study with rats, rodents consumed M & MS and experienced a large increase in chemist, which triggers opioid receptors in the same exact way that severe narcotics as morphine.

12. Habitual

Many of us have a ritual dessert. We like to give us a pleasure at the end of a long day, and why not? The essence of waiting for chocolate at the same time every day will only make it want it anymore. If you always take a chocolate ice cream ball after dinner, consider switching to a new habit, such as green tea or fruit.

13. Low levels of blood sugar

If you often expect a lot of time between meals, or jump all together, those crazy crazy cravings can begin to appear. The sugar gives you fast energy, but it is fleeting. Instead, eat foods with a high fiber content that maintain blood sugar under control, such as oatmeal.

14. Fight for mental health

It is not an antidepressant, but many people treat it as such. Studies show that people who suffer from depression eat twice as much chocolate than those who do not have it. Make sure you do not use chocolate as a substitute for real medicine, since it is only a temporary bandage to feel good.
