The number of divorces is triggered in China due to quarantine
Quarantines can be a fairly recent issue in Europe and the US, but China has been dealing with it since last year and people have been caught at home for a while. Many thought that this would mean a huge birth of children for the country, since you can not leave home, it is better that you get to work and use your free time to make some babies. But reality seems to be much less optimistic.

Many couples are separating and married couples plan to divorce as soon as they can. Being trapped at home with your partner 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for more than a month, it is not easy for many. With so much time free and few distractions, people began to reveal their darker side, bad habits and even some secrets were discovered.
It turns out that you can live with someone for years, but since both are at work most of the time and are only seen during a part of the day means that they may be alone most of the time. But once you are really stuck for days and days, your true colors come to light.
Some women discovered that their couples cheated them, others found irreconcilable differences that were previously manageable. Could you say that people spent an unnatural amount of time in close collaboration with their partner and became a bit crazy at home, but on the other hand, can you really spend years with a person if you can not do well for a month?
It has been talked a lot in Chinese forums about listening to neighbors fighting, fighting and crying, but at the same time, some people complained that although they stayed at home with their partner for a month, they barely spoke for 10 seconds a day. Self-insulation is difficult, no matter how you look at. If you stay alone, you can feel alone and lose human contact; On the other hand, to realize that you barely talk to your partner and you feel alone, even when you have been stuck to it for weeks, it sounds even more depressing.
Some people say that for them the quarantine has been described as living in a pressure cooker. You are locked in a small space, with all your demons and internal thoughts and another person with your own emotional baggage and strange habits. At first, you think everything will be fine, then you start bothering you for certain things, but you do not want to let it become a discussion. After all, you have no way out of this situation, so it is better not to start a conflict, so the pressure increases until one day both lose patience and explode in the greatest fight in the history of their relationship. And this is how cities in China have been seeing a massive increase of divorce requests.
A marriage agency of Dazhou, in Sichuan province, Southwest China, has received more than 300 divorce requests in the last two months. Other cities have had to limit the number of divorce requests that grant per day, possibly to discourage people to make so drastic decisions, but this has not stopped the public at all. They only wait for the next date available, people are queuing to divorce.
Is this something we can learn in the future or is it just an experiment that proves the uselessness of marriage and the dark side of isolation? It is difficult to say at this time. Some say that the rise of divorces could be simply because people are stressed and want an easy way out of the situation, others say that the quarantine was an awakening to the real needs of people and their goals in life. Then what is? Only time will tell.
