Have you ever dreamed of living in a place that is outside religion and politics? A place that is full of free people who just want to live in peace and take full advantage of their lives? A place where you do not have to worry about your career, from your country or origin. This place exists and it's called Auroville.

Auroville was built as an experience. The idea was to create a city that everyone can move to an international society that has no interest in politics or religion. His a little unrealistic and Hippy Dippy, right? Well this city exists. It was founded in 1968 by Mirra Alfassa and Roger Colon was the architect of Auroville.





According to the founder, Mirra Alfassa, also known as the "mother", Auroville is supposed to be a universal city where the men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and in progressive harmony, especially beliefs, all the politics and all nationalities. Auroville aims to achieve human unity.





The name of this city has a French origin and means dawn city. It is located in southern India and currently has a population of nearly 2.5k inhabitants. The inhabitants of Auroville have a range of age, ethnic groups and countries of origin. Currently, about one-third of the population comes from India and the rest comes from all over the world, including America, European countries and Asia.





The canton of Auroville is divided into 4 zones. Industrial, residential, international and cultural. The industrial zone welcomes the green industries of Auroville and aims to make the city as autonomous as possible. The residential area is a mix of collective and individual living spaces. The international zone is supposed to welcome cultural and national pavilions. This is supposed to be an excellent example of human unity. Finally, the cultural area is supposed to have all kinds of educational, artistic and sporting facilities. Every Auroville is supposed to be surrounded by a green belt - an area composed of farms, orchards, forests and wildlife.





Round pretty crooked cool, is not it? It seems that it is too good to be true, but the experience is still in progress and people living in Auroville seem happy. Maybe it's the first step towards a better society?
