This method can also be applied to a lot of things. Have washing dishes - it means you have food to eat. Do the laundry suck? You have clothes to wear. Do you feel that your house is very noisy and people continue to distract you? It means you have people in your life who want to spend time with you. Everything has its positive side, just remind us of seeing it from time to time. This could perhaps be one of the resolutions of your new year - to look at the good side of life more often.
