Today, I want to introduce another couple of great travel lovers. Meet the Adorable Trolls of Stockholm Daria and Johan Nyberg.

Their love story started at Helsinki Central Station 7 years ago. Believe it or not, it was love at first sight. Johan has just come to Daria and asked him "Can you speak Swedish?" Although Daria is Russian and she did not know a word of Swedish, they had a short and very funny conversation (stupid?). They even exchanged phone numbers. Daria returned home to St. Petersburg, Russia. In two weeks, Johan came to visit her, staying only one day. Since it was clear that they were supposed to be together!
Over time, they were engaged, Daria learned Swedish and moved to Sweden. They married in Norway in 2011 and traveled the world since. And they have great pictures to prove it! I'm sure their photos can inspire you to travel more and feel turned on to get out of the beaten track and experiment with really different places and cultures. Extreme trip? Yes, and it's really worth it!
Remember that love does not know any limits!
Interview with Daria:
- What are your favorite elements of traveling in general?
I just like to get up in a new and unknown place. Usually, I do not have a map or plans. I go out looking for a comfortable coffee. When I find one, I control a cup of coffee and sit at the window watching the scene outside and listening to the inhabitants who hang in the cafe. Yes, you can not understand a local language, you can not even know what all these people speak, but that's all! - You feel that you start living an absolutely new life.
Every new trip for me is like a new life and every time I go home, I feel like a new person!
- Why do you call yourself trolls?
The trolls are our favorite characters of Scandinavian folktals. People used to think that trolls are hairy, ugly and frightening creatures. But they can be in different forms and can offer a cute or beautiful appearance. The trolls live throughout the country, there are trolls that live in the woods, they are described as gentle and caring creatures, and like to decorate their hair with red mousse and rushing; There are trolls that live at the bottom of the lakes and mountain rivers, they have huge but beautiful green eyes; There are also some tiny cute trolls that live under the tree.
Some Swedes call their adorable charmtroll children.
- Do you have a favorite country / city that you visited or have you always looked for the uniqueness of every new place where you go?
We love Nordic countries - Norway, Iceland; or some cold places like Northern Scotland Highlands. Recently, we like to travel Norway and our favorite place here is the beautiful island of Lofotène. You will never forget your first trip to the lofotens. It is an absolutely fantastic and unique place on earth. The beauty of nature and landscapes is amazing - the Lofonten mountains, the fjords, the prairies of Cloudberry, the colorful fishing villages - you have to see it with your own eyes! Local populations are generous, friendly and open; They are always ready to help you.
- If I would go in the Lofoten Islands, what place should I visit and what dish should I try first?
It is better to visit them in the middle of the summer. This is the best time to enjoy the midnight sun, warm weather and harmony of nature. My first board does no plan, relax and enjoy every day of your stay in the lofotes. You can go hiking in the mountains and watch the eagles of the mountain, or rent a boat and see the fjords and watch the whales.
As for meals, you should try the traditional dried cod soup.
- Do you have funny or remarkable stories / antidotes of your travels?
There is no trip without funny adventures. In New York, a tree started talking to me, I mean literally! It scared me so much, but I realized that it was not a real tree, it was a disguised man like a tree. Later, a squirrel came into my bag and fell asleep there. In Barcelona, we had a crazy promenade challenge nearly 43 kilometers! When we returned home that day, we are almost dead of fatigue. In Dublin, we were on a hunt for the goblin and his gold pot. Instead of a leprechaun, we met a heron and I became friends with her, it even allowed me to caress her feathers.
YIKES, it's hard to remember everything!
- Can you imagine your life without traveling?
Oh no. Never. Our travels make me happy, they inspire me, every country makes me stronger and enriches my psyche and contributes to my well-being. I know myself better.
I advise you to travel as much as you can. Even if trips seem difficult for you, do not think it's an impossible thing to do. This is the best gift you can give you. Traveling together will bring closer closer and leave you indelible and amazing memories for the rest of your life!
