10 looks that Melania Trump will surely never wear again

Before being first lady of the United States, Donald Trump's wife was a model who wore the most extravagant outfits.

With two terms as first lady of the United States, Melania Trump's image has completely changed. Perhaps younger generations don't know it, but Donald Trump's wife began modeling at age 16, when her name was Melanija Knavs and she lived in her native Slovenia. She had a relatively successful career, posing for magazines such as Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and Elle, and walking for brands in Paris, Milan and New York.

For this reason, from time to time images of some of her more… let's say, extravagant or more sensual looks than what we now see her wearing resurface on the internet. Here we show you 10 of them.

Infinite legs and sandals

In 1999, a year after meeting Trump and five before getting married, the couple attended the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards. Melania opted for a sexy black dress with a side slit that showed off her long, tanned legs, adorned with the straps of very high sandals. It was one of the first times that the public saw Trump and Melania together and, given his habit of attending events accompanied by beautiful women, no one thought at the time that this young Slovenian woman would become his wife.

Agent 007

In one of her most sensual works, Melania was photographed by the famous Antoine Verglas for GQ magazine in 2000. The theme was inspired by the films of the famous agent 007, James Bond. Verglas said her features made her perfect for this edition. Dressed in sexy swimsuits, the model exuded beauty in all the images, one of which – in which she appears almost naked – was chosen as the cover. By the way, the jet where the photographs were taken was a “loan” from Donald Trump.

Baby-doll over jeans

Yes, this happened. A pink baby-doll-style top made of transparent fabric over jeans and gold jewelry was the look she chose to attend the Marc Jacobs show at New York Fashion Week in 2004. But, to be objective, Melania was not the only celebrity who committed this atrocity in that decade. Stars like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan were also photographed wearing these types of shirts, and even dresses, over pants.

A stunning bikini

By 1998, Melania had been working as a professional model for about five or six years, posing primarily in underwear and swimsuits. One of the most iconic is this pink, yellow and green outfit she wore for a Tatler magazine editorial, which made her look like a Barbie. These photographs were taken by Arthur Elgort at Trump's private club called Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, and it is said that this is how they met.

At the Playboy party

The parties at the famous Playboy mansion were iconic, but Melania did not let herself be overshadowed by all those “bunnies” when she went with Trump to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the adult magazine in 2003. That black dress with lace and transparencies on the bust made her look incredible, in addition to the fact that she also dyed her hair darker for the occasion, which gave her a sensual and mysterious air.

Controversial skin

If she wants to avoid being “cancelled” by the vast animal protection community, Melania will most likely never again wear a coat like several of the ones she wore on public outings in the early 2000s. The pieces, surely gifts from Trump, were made of real fur and cost thousands of dollars. In 2017, during her first year as first lady, the former model announced that she would no longer wear fur, after being singled out several times by animal rights organizations.

Silver and pregnant

She looked beautiful, but it is difficult for us to see Melania again in a shiny, low-cut, empire-cut silver dress, with impossible heels, and also five months pregnant. This was in 2005, during the presentation event of the 2007 Cadillac Escalade in New York, when she was sweetly expecting her son, Barron Trump.

Lingerie at the Stars Gala

As we saw in the previous look, being pregnant was not an impediment for Melania to feel—and look—the sexiest of the night. At the Night of Stars Gala of the Fashion Group International, held in New York more or less on the same date as the Cadillac event, the now Mrs. Trump made an impact with this lingerie-type silk dress, a romantic design that accentuated her curves and gave a very chic touch to her tummy.

Sexy executive

For the premiere of the film Charlie's Angels in New York in 2000, Melania wore an elegant white blazer and a matching pencil skirt, something that may not be far removed from the outfits she has worn as first lady. However, this one had a twist: a daring corset-type lace top, with a pronounced neckline, that made her look like a sexy executive. Plus, the high heels made her look stunning.

Impact at the Met Gala

The tight-fitting designer Marc Bouwer dress the model wore to the 2012 Met Gala was so stunning that we doubt we'll ever see her wearing something like it again. It was a perfect look for the Costume Institute's famous annual gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Those pronounced, pointed shoulder pads would be considered too extravagant for a first lady.
