Where did the legendary Baba from "Kalambur" disappear to? The story that was hidden for 20 years
Her Baba from "Village of Fools" is a character who became a popular meme long before memes became fashionable.
Ukrainian actress and clown Tetyana Ivanova is the same woman whose laughter once rang out in every home. She was a living anti-depressant, a person who could relieve any tension with a look or a gesture. Her Baba from "Village of Fools" is a character who became a popular meme long before memes became fashionable.
Tatyana was born in a city where the wind smells of the sea and humor seems to be part of the DNA. From an early age, she knew that she would make people laugh. "Laughter takes away the pain," she said as an adult, but she seems to have believed it as a child. After school, she did not go to the theater or the cinema - she chose the circus. There, under a high dome, appeared her first stage mask: an incredibly gifted clown who was not afraid to look strange.

In the early 1990s, fate brought Tatiana together with Serhii Gladkov and Vadym Nabokov - this is how the trio "Magazin Foo" was born. Their miniatures were an explosive mixture of Odessa humor, absurdity and self-irony. It was as if they lived in a parallel world, where logic is an unnecessary luxury, and laughter is the main currency. Very quickly, the group became cult, and Ivanova became one of its brightest stars.

In 1996, a new turn in her career was waiting for the actress - the entertaining and humorous TV show "Pun". Ivanova created dozens of images: from a waitress to a flight attendant. But the audience liked Baba from "The Village of Fools" the most. Her duet with the Man and the ever-surprised Silly Sailor have turned into a small universe where fish are caught in wells and the Bear visits as an old friend. Everything looked so natural that it seemed that she was not an actress, but a real neighbor from the Odessa court, just a little strange.

And it was on this set that another story unfolded — a romantic one. Tatyana and Vadym Nabokov (Sailor) initially just collaborated, joked, and rehearsed together. Then love appeared... They got married almost by accident: they had to urgently cross the border, and it turned out that Vadym's passport was invalid. The marriage seemed like a formality, but life decided differently: later, the couple had a son, Ilya, and a daughter, Maria, and the family became their best joint project.

After "Pun", Ivanova continued to work. She can be seen in such television projects as "Antsi from Moldavanka", "Odesa-mama" and "Ivanova-45", where the actress met again with her former partners.

In 2020, Tatyana still appeared on stage with the play "Pun". The hall applauded standing, laughed. And then Ivanova disappeared from public space. No loud announcements, no goodbyes. She just retreated.
They say that sometimes she can be seen in Odessa with a coffee in her hands and a smile on her face. She no longer laughs for everyone. Now her laughter is quiet, for her own. But there is something very Odessa about it: real clowns never disappear - they just go into the shadows, only to be loudly reminded of themselves again one day.
