The 20 most romantic small towns in the United States

The study used four different categories for results.

To refine the list, the research team at New York travel guides determined the 140 most romantic small towns in America.

The study compared 600 small popular cities in four categories: romantic places to stay, romantic activities, architecture and historical landscapes and comfortable cafes and restaurants. The categories then received a weight depending on the importance and each small town received a classification.

Securing the last place in the top 20 is none other than Stowe, Vermont. According to the report of New York Travel Guides, "The Ski Capital of the East", as we know, "is a beautiful little town that makes a very romantic getaway".

Stowe ranked 10th in total in the comfortable category of cafes and restaurants, which was calculated by determining the number of cafes with a high examination score and the number of gourmet restaurants in each small town.

Sandusky, who ranks fourth in the general classification for romantic activities, is the only city in Ohio to make the Top 20.

The category of romantic activities was calculated on the basis of the presence of certain romantic characteristics in each small town, such as spas, carriage rides, sled trips, cinemas, cinemas, art galleries and ski areas. It was weighted at 45% of the total, which makes it the highest of the four categories.
