Humorist Marlei Cevado, known for playing characters Nina, Mileyde and Blood on the SBT channel, recently had to be hospitalized in the ICU after sick and suddenly fainting in the bathroom, ”as she herself informed followers. The 48 -year -old also said in the post that everything was under control, but she had not yet received a diagnosis.

“Guys, everything is under control. Just for you to understand what happened: on Saturday, the 2nd, the afternoon, I had a sudden fainting in the bathroom, which earned me a huge rooster on my forehead. I went to the hospital to check my head and there I had another blackout. Then I went straight to the ICU, where I am so far. And doing all kinds of examination possible. I had to stop at Marra, ”wrote Marlei.

She also announced on her social networks a career break, with no prediction of when professional schedule will be resumed. “Now I'm taking care of myself, something I had been postponing for a long time… I will take care of Marlei, so Marlei can take care of Nina and blood. At the moment it's a whirlwind of thoughts, but… I just need a break to take care of me… everything is under control! Stay with God, ”wrote the artist in the post.

The artist appeared with a large bruise on his forehead, which was caused by the fall of her first fainting in the bathroom of her home.

According to Marlei, after several tests that gave good results, she found that the cause of fainting was a lack of temporary blood irrigation in the brain, a condition called vasovagal syndrome. In addition, she said she was very tired and taking medicine for the flu, which may have influenced the crisis.

“I'm fine, I didn't need to take any medication. I went to the ICU and that was to be more careful to know what it was about, ”she said. Marlei did not fail to thank the messages of affection he received from friends and followers, as well as the service and support of the hospital team

Vasovagal syndrome

Vasovagal syndrome, a diagnosis received by Marlei Barley, is a condition that causes transient loss of consciousness, or fainting, caused by the reduction of heartbeat and blood pressure by the action of the vagus nerve, which is located in the nape area.

This syndrome is caused by the delay in the arrival of the blood to organs such as the brain and the heart, and can be triggered by some factors, such as prolonged fasting, presence in very closed or clustered environments, anxiety or remaining hours.

The first signs of vasovagal syndrome are weakness, pallor, nausea, dizziness and palpitations. Blurred vision, headache and perspiration can also be indications of the condition, which does not have specific treatment, only medications to avoid more blood pressure drops. Medicines are not mandatory, and the patient can prevent new outbreaks avoiding situations that can trigger them and avoid presence in some specific environments.

The groups most affected by vasovagal syndrome are young women. Other factors that can lead to fainting are scares, great emotions and alcohol intake, which can contribute to dehydration and consequent drop in blood pressure.
